Agents of Fate Trailer

Agents of Fate Trailer

Project Overview

Hello! My name is Joseph Fredrick! While I've been using Casting Call as a budding voice actor an amateur director of a few fan projects in my time on the site, I'm here putting up my first paid casting call for my teams book Agents of Fate.

I am the owner of an indie TTRPG development studio by the name FableTop Productions. In the past years time we have gotten our first work funded, published, and distributed to fans and stores across the country, and in that time we have been preparing our second title, Agents of Fate. The game is a very beginner friendly TableTop RPG meant to be a great introductory title for new players. The focus of the game see's all players making action movie characters, getting assigned secret missions, and all getting thrown into the same space where their motivations and paths will clash resulting in a high speed improvisational comedy competitive game. The system derives major inspiration from movies such as John Wick, Bullet Train, and Knives out, while its Art Direction is directly inspired by Tetsuya Nomuras work on The World Ends With You series.

The purposes of this casting call is to cast two minor actors for the trailer we will be posting on our social media accounts and our Kickstarter. Given that each role in the final draft will only have about 2 - 3 sentences a piece, we're making the deadline for this project a bit shorter then others, so if you're interested please consider auditioning soon!

Requirements:

1) You MUST have a competent recording setup or at least good recording quality. This is going to be run as ads on YouTube and shared across multiple platforms. We expect your auditions to be submitted in a quality that we could theoretically use in the trailer.

2) You must be 16+ or older. You either must have a legitimate means to receive your payment (either through Paypal, Venmo or Zelle), if you don't have any of those and you are selected, we'll be willing to work with you.

3) You must be able to submit any lines or retakes within a timely manner. We don't expect you to drop EVERYTHING at a moments notice for us, but if we request a retake from you, you must be able to submit it within 48 hours. If you do not think that will be possible, we're willing to work things out.

4) Be respectful to other auditioners.

I will be posting more updates about the project over the next two weeks so I encourage you to follow the project if you're at all interested. In the mean time, break a leg, and thank you for auditioning!

Latest Updates

  • FOR THOSE AUDITIONING FOR MAITREYA

Hello everyone! We've been thrilled to hear everyone's auditions, and to receive almost 50 in under 24 hours was excellent news as well!

Listening to all these auditions has made us a bit more aware of what we're looking for, specifically with Maitreya right now. It has come to our attention that we'd like to edit some kind of filter over their voice. The character of Maitreya is meant to be a covert hacker anarchist who probably wouldn't just let their voice be unaltered. Because of this in the finished product there will be a light filter on it. Either to make them sound a bit robotic or almost auto-tuned, but not heavily enough it will be obscuring the voice talents.

Because of this change in direction we will be adding to the character bio that auditionees are allowed to submit versions with some sort of hacker or computer layer on top of it. If you have already submitted an audition and would like to do this as well, feel free to delete and resubmit! Though we're looking at the voice work first and the editing second, I won't deny the team is going to be impressed by having a proof of concept, so it will likely boost your chances if you're able to submit like this.

Anyways, we'll be sure to share more news as we have it. Thank you everyone!

Project Roles: NARRATOR MAITREYA

NARRATOR

Paid: Flat Rate 50 USD
Role assigned to: Alben Bloomfield

This narrator will be voicing a brief spot in the beginning and end of the trailer. The narrator will be reciting what is essentially a parody of military propaganda or some sort of recruitment ad, encouraging and welcoming in new recruits to joining the agency. This ad will be interrupted in the beginning but then cut back in at the very end of the trailer.

We are open to creative takes of this character but the general energy we are hoping for is a peppy, upbeat, and mildly sarcastic male voice with Transatlantic accent a la 60s television advertisements. Two examples we found that we could see ourselves being happy with are:

The Announcer from The Legend of Korra: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-rLbxtTef8&ab_channel=Ryan'sComedyRyview

or

The Narrator from FNAF 6: https://youtu.be/zoxksx_2lBw?si=i-FzB7Rl08N5rVco&t=92

  • The Northern Federation was founded on one principle: freedom. The harsh reality of our world, however, is that freedom is not free. As a matter of fact, the price of freedom is upwards of 800 billion dollars per annum---and some of that money could be yours, if you enlist to protect our great nation as an operative of the Northern Federation Intelligence Agency! Train among the world's greatest spies at one of our military academies and learn everything from stealth and sabotage to stabbing and shooting

Maitreya is an anarchist hacker who will interrupt the trailer and government shlock that the narrator is presenting in the beginning of the trailer. She will make a snyde remark about how lame the speech is and tell the viewer that they'll show them what they're REALLY here to see, and will transition into the actual trailer. Maitreya is cocky, arrogant, playful and energetic. They thrive of off stirring up chaos and showing anyone who will be willing to listen to them the corruption in the world and will appear periodically throughout the book to point out the absurdities of the action movie like parodies.

Maitreya is not written with any gender in mind but we would prefer a more feminine delivery. While we don't have a specific voice reference in mind, I would personally recommend maybe deriving some inspiration from other mischievous mascot like characters in media (such as Morgana, Monokuma, etc) , but put your own spin on it!

Though this is not required, it will most likely bolster your chances of being picked out among the other applicants.
