Age of the Ring: Lothlorien Elves
Project Overview
Age of the Ring is a massive overhaul of the classic Battle for Middle Earth II: The Rise of the Witch King. The mod aims to create an RTS experience that is faithful to the spirit of the Tolkien mythos, with diverse, engaging and balanced gameplay. It features dozens of new heroes, units, spells and abilities as well as new maps and a campaign following the journey of the Fellowship of the Ring. In 2020, we won Mod of the Year on ModDB! Our project is coming to a close, and we are looking to finalize a few remaining roles.

Mood: Disciplined, wise, calm. These are the true military force of Lothlórien and are the main guard of its borders. They have some Sindarin lines – feel free to hit us up on Discord to discuss Elven pronunciation: https://discord.gg/8NP6SJd - but you can also just watch a few Elvish clips from LotR to get a general feel. Whatever sounds good – we’re purists, but not by that much.
Accent: Received Pronunciation – Elves are British.
Note: dh in ‘Galadhrim’ is pronounced as "th" in "the"

Lórilinde [Loh-ri-lyn-deh, roll the R] - Golden Singer
The Lórien Tree-singer is the builder/worker. She summons up Elven structures (trees) through song and magic.
Accent: Received pronunciation
Mood: Kind, ethereal, full of wisdom, working in deference to the player, who in this case is the tree-singer’s ‘executive’, perhaps Lord Celeborn or Galadriel themselves. The Tree-singer has great respect for the natural world and treats it with wonder and reverence. Her voice is similar to other Elves we hear in the LotR films: she speaks with a slightly lowered pitch.

Celeborn - Lord of the Galadhrim

Celeborn is the Lord of the Galadhrim, husband and co-ruler to Galadriel. He is serious, deliberate, and calculated in his speech. He takes his time to enunciate. His wisdom is paramount, making him confident and certain in his pronouncements. He has seen much suffering during the Elves’ ‘long defeat’, but understands that abandoning hope isn’t a ‘logical’ thing to do, because not even the very wise can see all ends. Celeborn understands the importance of martial prowess, and his skill as a warrior is only matched by his wisdom.

Pronunciation of Elvish doesn’t need to be perfect, it just needs to sound good, ethereal, and distinctly un-English. If you are unsure of pronunciation, please contact us!
