Project Overview

Hello and thank you for checking out this project! These characters are ones I've had since I was very young, and are ones I hope to make a comic with in the future. 

I've always loved the idea of getting some official voice actors for them, to give them even more personality. You can see some more of my artwork of them on my Patreon or here: DEVIANTART

This final project for this semester features three of my characters, but instead of a comic...it's for a small game! I have a small 4 week timeframe to complete a single-level RPG with animatic sequences that I would like to be voiced. There is a total of 3 characters currently featured in-game: Coal, Spirit and Ash. 

I have this project listed as "no budget" but this isn't entirely true. Even though I'm a student with little income outside of art commissions I would love to pay something forward to the voice actors! Whether that's some form of money or just artwork (a free commission) as thanks, I will try to make it happen when I can :) I would actually like to hire and keep the voice actor I choose for long-term and future projects! Whether those are simple animations I do, comics being read aloud, or otherwise.

Please only audition if you are 18+ though! I do not want to hire minors for these particular characters.

The game is due the last day of this semester: December 7th. So I'll have auditions closed on the 30th and contact people as soon as I can so you have hopefully about a week to finish! The word counts are very rough estimates- I'm still scripting other animatics. So far the first animatic sequence just features Coal and Spirit conversing for 1 minute total between the two of them. Spirit has more dialogue since he's a chattier type of person.

    Heyo everyone! First I wanted to say thank you again for all your support and patience with this project. I am so happy to see how much interest it seems to have gotten so far, ahh! I had a very tough time choosing the main three roles for Coal, Spirit and Ash, because you're all ridiculously talented and iguherg. I wish I could do roles for everyone! On that note, though, I finally settled on my choices for these characters today and have closed their roles. I'll be reaching out to these VA with more info. BUT. This semester I will be doing 3 more levels in the game, and am expecting to have a couple more roles - including females. So please keep an eye out for those in the future!   • Second Roles Deadline and More Levels

    I come with another update! I've taken the time to respond to pretty much every applicant on this project. I've gone ahead and narrowed it down to 10 people for Coal and Ash, and then about 10 or 11 for Spirit! I've responded to everyone who I'm interested in hearing a second round of lines from. This'll be the final draw. The tentative deadline for this is New Year, Deecmber 31st. To everyone who was rejected for these roles, I want to say thank you again so much for auditioning. I kept repeating myself, but I mean it when I say I'll keep you in mind for future projects :) you're all so talented and definitely left an impression! Another update is that this project has been extended into my next semester! My professor will be requiring me to do another 3 game levels, which means...at least probably 3 more animatics to go with. So...more voice acting opportunities and a nicer time frame to work with.   • Another update!

    Spoke to my professor and she told me to prioritize just getting the game functional by tomorrow's deadline, so I am focusing on that first and foremost. However, as some have noticed I've been going through and responding to everyone I've rejected so far for Coal! I will try narrowing it down to a few applicants per person, then request additional lines with different moods. I might just...add those as "new roles" to this project?? Rather than opening an entire new project for it. I am so excited about this though! The animatic/voice acting is the part I'm looking forward to the most with this project :) Thanks for bearing with me everyone! Vex

  • "Deadline" to be pushed back, sorting through auditions!

    I am floored with the response this has gotten so far! I've been listening to all these auditions as they filter through and you are all so, so talented! I wish I had more than 3 characters that needed a voice actor right now omg!! For some reason...the deadline is set for 2 hours?? I'm new to CCC so I might be doing this wrong, but I think the hiring decisions are supposed to be made during the deadline...not after? So I'll be pushing it back a few days and begin sorting through auditions! I'm going to comment on all auditions and start the rejection process too, that way people know why I don't go with them (it's gonna be hard saying no ahh). I may also reply to a few top contenders asking for additional takes! Perhaps a different "project" ??? Unsure. We'll find out!   • Spirit Accent Update + Still Searching for Auditions!

    I have changed Spirit's accent listing on his character to "ANY" today. He's not required to be Australian or British by any means. I mostly just want some sort of accent to give him a bit of character! So even something Scottish or just generally European is fantastic. I have gotten a lot of applications for Ashmedai, but could absolutely still use some for Coal and Spirit! Definitely consider applying for multiple characters :D And those of you who've done Spirit already-- feel free to apply again with a different/no accent if you so please! Thank you for all the auditions and support thus far, it's gonna be a tough to pick!

Coal Alfonso is the protagonist and lead character in my story, Aeonian. He's a young adult, latino, and gay. Coal is temperamental, sarcastic, hotheaded, with a soft spot around his partner, Spirit. This project is set in a time period before they are actually dating. 


  • 18+ actors only, please. Coal has had a sexual history and I would prefer to work with someone closer to my own age.

  • POC voice actors are preferred due to his race, but are not required...I am ultimately looking for a fitting voice for his character.

  • He may use colorful language, so the voice actor should be comfortable with cursing.

Some fictional animated characters I would suggest referencing as inspiration for Coal for his personality and maybe his voice are: Eren Yeager, Keith Kogane, Bakugo Katsuki, Gray Fullbuster, Lio Fotia

  • [reluctantly/angrily introducing himself] My name is Coal Alfonso. I'm a 20-something mage and I specialize in electric magic. I'm apparently the chosen one, but I am not a hero.

Spirit is the deuteragonist and second leading in my story, Aeonian. He appears to be a young adult in his 20s, but is actually very old...kind of like a vampire! He's the god of Earth's life, having created humans, animals and plants alike. He is young at heart, though, and for his species. Spirit is naturally a dragon, but has the ability to shapeshift and truly wishes to be human. He is caucasian, pansexual and demiromantic. Spirit is friendly, bubbly, supportive, talkative, and generally a very positive character, with a soft spot for his partner, Coal. This project is set in a time period before they are actually dating. 


  • 18+ actors only, please. I would prefer to work with someone closer to my own age.

  • LGBT voice actors are preferred due to his sexual orientation (being in love with Coal, basically) but are not required...I am ultimately looking for a fitting voice for his character. The voice actor must be comfortable with playing as a pansexual male character.

  • British or Australian accents are preferred but are NOT required! I really like the voice of Dan Smith (Bastille lead singer) for a frame of reference!

Some fictional animated characters I would suggest referencing as inspiration for Spirit's personality are: Prince Sidon, Hunk Garrett, Galo Thymos, Rapunzel (Tangled)

Ashmedai is the main antagonist in my story, Aeonian. He is in his 20s, and is not technically human - in this world his species is called "demons." If he were human he would be a POC, and he is bisexual. Ash is snarky, violent, hotheaded, confident, and a bit of an ass. He and Coal previously had a hate-fling between them, but he now pursues Coal for legal reasons that are irrelevant of disclosure atm.


  • 18+ actors only, please. I would prefer to work with someone closer to my own age.

  • LGBT voice actors are preferred due to his sexual orientation but are not required. I would love for something a little scratchy/rough for his voice.

  •  The voice actor must be comfortable with playing as a bisexual male character.

  • Accents are totally optional for him! I would love for a POC to voice him, but am not too picky since he's technically not even human.

  • He will curse! He's got a potty mouth so that's important to take note of.
