Adventure Hour – in Time and Space! (Pilot Show)
Project Overview
Hello! Thank you for checking out this casting call! Adventure Hour – In Time and Space from the Cosmic Outpost will be a monthly hour long Mixcloud broadcast part podcast/part radio which will feature a half hour radio drama in the style of Dimension X or X minus 1 – we may even recreate some of those stories. Also in the show, there will be narrated 1000-1200 word sci-fi story offering an uplifting view of the future. The rest of the time will be filled out by a sci-fi review of a suitable written sci-fi adventure as well as sci-fi related music tracks both old and new.
The project is unpaid as the output will not generate an income however I want to promote people who help with the show as much as I can. The plan is to draw fans of sci-fi to the Adventure hour with a mix of sci-fi influenced music and drama. I hope the fans we create for the show will become fans of yours too. I think if we can all help each other get where we are going then that can’t be a bad thing.
Onto the casting! I need to test the waters so I’m going to produce a short half hour pilot show to see what it takes and get people interested in helping. So what do we need for our Pilot show? I see other castings layout rules so I guess I better say what I expect! If you’re verified awesome if not, that’s fine just give me nice clear dry audio however you want. I use a portable vocal booth on a mic stand with a large Rode NT-1 style condenser mic going into my recorder. Behind me are some acoustic panel but before that I used to use a duvet hung over a door! That’s gives me what I need so hope that’s not too much for you.

We have short three page comedy drama where the Cocky Male Hero is has battled aliens and has to battle the wit of the starship elevator to save himself from the aliens and embarrassment in front of his female companion!

We have a 1000 word story about a teen colonist who has fears about landing on the new world and leaving the home and safety of the spaceship on which she lived for eight years.

"The deceleration alarm sounded and by instinct Piny grabbed the eject handle, if it sounded again she would pull the handle and send herself out of the craft to an unknown fate. In VR training she’d frozen so many times at that point and had to see the ships counsellor when she was 12 to get over the nightmares she was having about being left alone whilst the others escaped. The feelings of being 12 again faded as the ejection handles recessed into the seat and there it was – heavy all around her: Gravity."
