Abridged Beats! Is an abridged series I’ve been working on for the anime Angel Beats! I am currently in the process of putting together episode 2 for this series and need some voice actors to fill some empty roles I have. This casting call is strictly for the characters that will appear in episode two. I will not be casting characters that appear later on in the series as of yet.
Voice Actor Requirements:
This is a fan project and is being made for fun and practice. Unfortunately, I will not be able to provide monetary compensation for your time so please keep that in mind when you’re deciding on whether or not to audition. Another thing to keep in mind before you audition is that this project is intended to be a long term project. I plan to abridge every episode of this series if I am able to. That being said, I look forward to listening to all of your auditions!
Voice Range: Mid to Low
Personality: Calm and Gentle but tough if the situation calls for it.
Matsushita is a gentle giant. His voice should be warm and inviting like a patient older brother.
[You're in a team meeting discussing the uncertainty of what comes after the afterlife] (Explaining) Humans aren't the only animal with a soul. It's possible you could be reborn as a moth or a dog. A moth-dog.
[A threat is standing in your path and you charge at it to protect your teammates] (shouting) Ahhh!
[You've just been stabbed and are trying to neutralize an enemy who's trying to escape from your grasp] (struggling) Quickly! Go on ahead! I'm not sure how much longer I can hold her back!
Voice Range: Mid to High
Personality: Easily flustered, cowardly, and unremarkable
Ooyama is a sensitive and easily excitable boy. He should sound like someone who isn't too confident in what they do or say.
[Introducing yourself to the newest team member] (Happy) Welcome to the battlefront, man.
[You've let you and your team members get trapped because you forgot a crucial bit of information] (Worried) Oh no, I'm sorry, I forgot! This trap locks its victims inside!
[You've triggered a trap and are now falling to your doom] (scared) *scream*
Voice Range: Mid
Personality: Tough and Edgy
Shiina is a self proclaimed ninja. As such, she's quiet and tends to keep to herself. However, she is very fond of cute things and will risk her life to save whatever cute thing is in danger. She should sound like someone who's gotten bored of all the bullshit and just wants to get on with whatever she's doing.
[Something stupid is happening] (Uninterested) This is so stupid.
[You've found the way out of a trap and are alerting the other members of your team] I found the way out. It's this way. Follow me.
[You've noticed a cute helpless puppy floating down the river towards a waterfall] (Shouting) Oh, no! The puppy is getting carried away! I'll save you, puppy!
Voice Range: Mid to Low
Personality: Calm and Polite
Takamatsu is the know it all of the group and likes to act smarter than he is. He tends to avoid confrontation if necessary and prefers to work on gathering intel. He should sound like someone you'd trust to give you the answers to a test you didn't study for.
[You're explaining the current situation to the newest team member] It looks like you still don't understand. No matter what happens we can not die. It's just insanely painful.
[You're being chased by a huge round boulder tumbling towards you very quickly] (Fearful) *scream*
[You've just been informed that you'll be the one to create a distraction in front of the whole class] Excuse me! I didn't sign up for this! I quit!
Voice Range: Mid to Low
Personality: Tough
Chaa is the leader of the Guild and as such has a commanding presence. He should sound gruff and authoritative.
[You're responding to a request to disable the defensive traps] Very well. The traps will be disabled as soon as possible. We look forward to your visit.
[Commanding your team] Listen up everyone! We don't have much time. We need to rig this place to explode before it's too late. Move it!
