A Tale of Stars & Shadows – Fantasy/Adventure – Voice Acting & Artist Roles [No AI]
Project Overview
Plagued by their own secrets, two unlikely companions find themselves on a magical journey to stop mystic forces from bringing Chaos to their world.
A while back, we released Chapter 1 of "A Tale of Stars & Shadows" and we're currently developing Chapter 2! When it comes to the style, think loosely of Avatar: The Last Airbender & Legend of Korra and The Owl House!
This is initially going to be an unpaid project, so please audition only if you're comfortable with that! I haven't received any revenue from the work I've done so far for "A Tale of Stars & Shadows", but in case this new endeavour brings in any revenue when released, I will be sharing the profits with all contributors fairly!

Requirements for voice actors!
1. Clear microphone
2. Be punctual, dedicated, and committed
3. You must be okay with LGBTQ+ elements.
4. If you are cast, please do not discuss the script(s) and story outside of the actors' group as there are major revelations that I would like to keep a mystery so as not to spoil the fans of the story!
5. Please let me know what the best way to reach you is if Casting Call doesn't show you notifications - Discord, Instagram, etc.
This is an AI-Free project! Once cast, each new member of the team is asked to sign an NDA contract that also covers protection of your work from AI and other misuse.
Voice Actor
Elia comes across as stoic and cold, but they hold great warmth within them, especially for those they care about. They're diplomatic and incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to the law, hence them being the perfect fit for the head of the Court Affairs Division.
Accent: British RP - think period dramas like Bridgerton
Voice range: Mid; Soft-spoken but stands their ground; their voice and cadence should always portray that Elia's already thought about what they say, and what they say is fully intended to come across that way. A little rasp to their voice to contrast their softness would be a great touch, but not a deal-breaker!
As Elia is non-binary, we encourage anyone to audition for this role.

Berin can look intimidating, but he is perhaps the softest and quietest of the main Prestige gang. He is respectable and caring, the best when it comes to keeping the peace, and a great fit for the Head of the Healing Arts Division. He doesn't feel the need to talk much, though if he does have something important to say, he will make sure it is heard (in a peaceful and respectful manner, of course!)

Note: His first line is a long spell which I've put below as an optional audition line; don't worry about the pronunciation, pronunciation guides come with the animatic & script, which will be given during the VO stage.

Gerbert is the old and perky owner of Gerbert's Herbs. He seems very sweet and innocent, and he definitely uses that to his advantage when he can!

Zozo is an eight-year-old girl from the Low District. She comes across as numb and almost emotionless (unless she gets really excited about books!) She doesn't speak very well, as there was no one around her to teach her the Common Tongue; she grew up in the streets, but that hasn't broken her – she is a big bookworm, and even with the little she can do, she is out there helping others in need. She may seem soft and frail, but she may be the most resilient person in the whole Low District.
Accent: American (she speaks with a broken English)

Sebina is the serene, resilient, and formidable Luminary of Galdore – the head of the Azdeist Religion in Galdore Kingdom. She is very calculated with her words, and does not shy away from conflict; she is confident in her victory.

(almost mockingly) It’s odd seeing people come in so early, the Stars are yet to show.
(Sebina glances down at Marn’s wounded shoulder and uses the injury against her.) Wounds like that can make the mind… restless. Twist meaning where there is none. Perhaps my lumenmaidens could take a look and ease the pain.
(calm and indifferent, yet threatening) Do you know what happens to cracked glass? You cannot patch it. You cannot ignore it. You melt it down completely. And remake it whole...

This lumenmaiden is a devout follower of Azdeism, and she also acts as a messenger for Luminary Sebina.

Alcis's Father is a very concerned -- comically concerned -- stay-at-home dad (while his husband is hustling for the 💰voliures💰) whose kid has ran off and is nowhere to be found. He is a sort of comic relief character in this episode!

Lanky is a Raider who should seem both menacing and out-of-his-depth (unbeknownst to him). He's sneaky, mischievous, and should almost sound nefarious but in a semi-comical way.

Artist
We are looking for some additional help for our AMAZING background artist!
The background artist will take rough environment sketches/layouts provided by us and draw them into a consistent visual style that can be used throughout the animatic.
As you may have seen, the style of the show is very black-and-white-y so coloured backgrounds will *not* be necessary.
