Looking for an audiobook-style narrator for an indie puzzle game project called "A Little Perspective". You can check out the trailer/game demo on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3485300/A_Little_Perspective/
The full game contains a narrative about 2 characters, told in two halves by two different narrators. The game has 117 levels containing story (~4700-4800 words in total), where a short, 1-2 sentence line plays at the start of each level. It being a puzzle game, levels may take minutes to complete before moving on - so this narrative, although being continuous and mostly linear, will be delivered in individual bits and pieces.
There is no dialog, only 3rd person high-level storytelling - so essentially I'm looking for an audio-book style narrator, with relaxed, low-key delivery and subtle emotion. It's a story with a lot of room for personal interpretation, and although the story has a range of happy/sad moodiness, I'd like to avoid suffocating the player's ability to reason about what's going on with over-acting.
I'd like the narration to sound pensive/intelligent, but not in a pompous way; rather in the same way as the type of person who's always able to find something interesting to contribute in a casual conversation. I'd like the delivery to sound like you're telling the story to someone face-to-face in a comfortable setting, rather than giving a grandiose performance.
Leaning towards a northeastern American, adult male (~30yo) voice actor, but given the omniscient 3rd person structure, I am open to other accents/styles/genders. The soundtrack has a chill lo-fi sort of vibe, so a voice that compliments this well is ideal.
This is a part-time project for me, so I may not be available at all hours!
