A game designed for the blind but developed for all!
We are seeking voice actors for “A Hero’s Call”, a fantasy RPG from independent game developer Out of Sight Games. We are a small team with an emphasis on making immersive games that are accessible to both blind and sighted gamers; “A Hero’s Call” is our first title, and as an RPG there is no shortage of characters in need of voicing. This game is meant to be enjoyed by both blind and sighted gamers, and excellent voice work is especially crucial in a game for the blind, as it is one of the main ways we can immerse blind players in the game world. You can learn more about the game by checking out our currently active (but fully funded) Kickstarter campaign:https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1112411595/a-heros-call-an-accessible-fantasy-rpg?ref=discovery
We are prepared to compensate our cast at a rate of $0.10 USD per finished word of dialogue (meaning if you provide us with three takes of the same ten-word line, the final compensation for the line will be $1.00, not $3.00), with the possibility of compensation increasing depending on how much funding we’re able to raise. We will handle all audio processing in-house, to make your recording process as easy as possible. If you are offered a role, the offer will include an estimate of the size / final pay for the role.
There are a wide range of roles available and open but we request at the moment you send us only character/animation demos for review at the moment. Within the next month, many roles will be opened for auditioning along with dialogue provided but for now we just ask for demos.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask in the comment section and we will answer them all as soon as possible and within the day.
Update: We do expect everyone to have moderate experience and skill in acting but also most importantly, a decent quality microphone. Any static, background noise, humming and buzzing, will be immediately disregarded. learn to use noise reduction and treatment and be aware of your recording environment and equipment to reduce these issues.
