I've decided to extend this casting call one more time till I'm finally going to start casting the voices for the project. Thanks to anyone who had auditioned so far. Have a happy Valentine's Day!
A Derpy Love Story (MLP Comic Dub)
Project Overview
To honor MLP: FiM completing its final season, I've been wanting to make dubs on various MLP comics done by talented artists around the community. I'm aiming to exercise with managing projects as well as my YouTube channel. And I'm planning to start posting content on my channel as a way to grow as a creator and to do more passion projects in the future.
For now, this will be just for fun to stay productive during the holiday season. Here's some requirements to audition.
1. Please read the description of each character you're going to audition for beforehand. You are allowed to audition for more than one character. Give it your best shot.
2. Only send 1-2 takes of each line (send in another variation of a take if you have an idea in mind of how you want to approach a line differently)
3. If you do get the role, the expected schedule to turn in your lines should be approximately two weeks. If there's any delays where you're unable to turn them in on time, I can extend the deadline. So please communicate with me as soon as you can.
4. This goes without saying that you must have a Discord for future communications if you get the part.
5. Decent/clear mic quality is another note to keep in mind. USB and XLR mics are accepted, so be sure to have a decent set up with no background noise/reverb.
6. For the following voice references, don't do an exact imitation of the original voice. The references are provided to allow you to hear how the character should sound. With that said though, you are welcome to provide your own take on the character. Being able to act is what matters.

Thank You for Auditioning
Thank you all to everyone who has auditioned for this comic dub. I'll start listening through your submissions and choosing the cast and crew on the project at least towards the weekend. Hey guys. Just a quick update that this will be the last time I'm pushing back the deadline for this comic dub. Still looking for more video editors. Derpy Hooves is a Pegasus pony who mostly appears as a background character in the show. In this comic, she appears as the main focus of the story where she meets up with her friend Carrot Top. However, Carrot Top continuously teases Derpy for secretly hiding her feelings on her crush Doctor Hooves aka Whooves.
She is shy and she's very embarrassed when she's forced to admit her crush to Carrot Top. And she can get a bit over the top when she finally confesses her secret out loud. But she's a sweet pony who absolutely gushes like a fan-girl near the end.
Her voice range should be mid high. For reference, I'm going with Ruby Rose from RWBY (Volume 2-present)

(in denial) What?!? The doctor and I are not dating! We're just a boy and a girl who do various activities together.
(desperately confesses her feelings to Carrot Top) I have a crush on the doctor! Do you hear me?! He's all I think about! He gives me goosebumps every time I see him! He means more to me than all the muffins in the world! Is this getting through your head!? I LOVE THE DOCTOR!!!
(feeling hesitant to kiss the doctor at first, but then starts fangirling in her mind) Please don't hate me for this... (gasps) He's kissing me back! Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!

Like Derpy Hooves, Carrot Top is an earth pony whom also makes appearances as a background character in the show. In this comic, she has a supporting role as Derpy's friend.
Her personality is best summed up as playful and sometimes mischievous but she can still be seen as a great friend to Derpy. Even if she can have a little fun of playing around with Derpy.
I don't really have a specific character reference in mind, but you can watch this video as a voice reference for Carrot Top:
(playfully teasing) Oh I see, were you out on a date with your boyfriend, the Doctor?
(thinking of an idea to Derpy to break Hooves out of his shock state) Well, I've heard when someone is shocked into unconsciousness, the only way to snap them out of it is to do something even MORE shocking than what got them shocked in the first place.
(happy to see Derpy and Hooves confess their love to each other. For the second line, feel free to add some variety to it. More along the lines of 'if you know what I mean' kind of tone) Well it appears that you don't need my help anymore! I'll just leave you two alone.

Dr. Whooves aka Hooves is an earth pony with an hourglass cutie mark. His name has been applied as a reference to the hit BBC series, Dr Who.
Usually seen as another background character in the show. But in this comic, he's portrayed as the love interest for Derpy. He gets shocked into unconsciousness after Derpy loudly confesses to Carrot Top about her affections towards him in public. He snaps out of his frozen shock once Derpy gives him a kiss. He responds by kissing her right back and admits his love for her too.
Not too much to say about his personality here since he only has one line in the story. His voice should be at a medium to a medium low pitch. You can go for a British accent for the doctor, but it's totally fine if you prefer to use your natural speaking voice without an accent.
For a character reference, nothing wrong going for Dr. Who himself. As for voice reference, I'd say Haida from the Aggretsuko anime.
