Prasad Vidhyabaskaran

A self-taught composer and multi-instrumentalist, Prasad Vidhyabaskaran was drawn to music from an early age as an avid listener of classical music and Hollywood film scores. Since picking up the keyboard and guitar in 2011, he has transitioned from arranging instrumental covers to composing original orchestral music using DAWs, notation software, and modern sample libraries.

Prasad made his public debut in September 2016, composing the original background score and performing live guitar from the music pit for Once Upon a Time, the 6th annual theatrical production by the San Francisco Bay Area community group Swaram. In December 2024, his orchestral piece Sentience was selected for live performance at the End-of-the-Year concert by the Awesöme Orchestra Collective, conducted by Brian Adam McCune. Prasad has also composed original music for few short films: the Tamil-language Rudra: Origin Story and the English-language Customer Service.
