About Phoenix Inkwell

Greetings and salutations to one and all, I go by Phoenix Inkwell on this site. Just your friendly neighborhood Bipoc Enby trying to make it in the competitive world of voice acting and performing art. I have been in theatre for many years both Highschool and college, been obsessed with audiodramas and books on tape for as long as I can remember as well as cartoons, comic books graphic novels and the like. I have been in a few short films and a couple of indie feature lengths when I was a kid, a few commercials and indie films as an adult. I can convey a wide range of emotions with my voice, which can straddle the line between masculine and femme at times. I enjoy playing villainous characters as well as little goofballs, monsters, creatures, heroes and outcasts. While I can't pinpoint exactly when I acquired the urge to seek to become a voice actor, I know I've always wanted to be a story teller. That is how I learned to read, to think, to be. Plus getting to adopt silly and zany and sinister voices is just fun! I've let myself believe that I would never be good enough and so by embarking on this venture I am trying to dispel that myth I have crafted for myself and maybe further down the line show kids who were just like me that they too can sit behind a computer or in a voice booth for hours and play pretend. I also just want to meet cool people, while maybe not ever having a face to face conversation, I kid, I kid. The truth is, I have spent most of my life being my worst critic, not taking the plunge for fear of being crippled. Now as an adult, I've reached a point where even if I fail, I still triumph, because I tried. As long as we try our best, who can fault us for taking an icarus plunge every now and then

I know this is probably way too long of an about page, if you have scrolled away I don't blame you. Believe me, as someone who has struggled with adhd most of their life; writing this was very much an agony. But I figured if I was gonna make an about page might as well be honest. Anyway, if you have stayed this long, thank you; keep on being amazing!
