About Joseph Drago

Trained actor and voice artist specializing in grounded, dramatic, and character-driven performances. My strengths include dark fantasy, villains, commanding characters, emotionally restrained roles, narration, and intense dramatic material. I bring theatrical training, on-camera development, strong vocal control, and a character-first approach to every performance—aiming for believable emotion, clear choices, and memorable characters rather than simply “doing a voice.

Education
Glendale Community College - 2024

Acting 1, Theatre Production, and Voice and Diction

Instructed by Leslie Tutnik Machbitz and David Seitz

Glendale Community College — Acting & Performance Training (2024)

Formal performance training focused on building a strong foundation in both theatrical and camera-ready acting, with emphasis on truthful character work, vocal control, and disciplined scene preparation.

  • Acting I:
Character development, objectives, emotional truth, scene study, script analysis, and believable performance.

  • Theatre Production: Practical experience with stage performance, rehearsal discipline, ensemble work, blocking, and adapting performance choices to a live theatrical environment.

  • Voice & Diction: Vocal clarity, projection, articulation, breath control, pronunciation, and expressive use of the speaking voice.

  • On-Camera Development: Applying theatrical fundamentals to more restrained, naturalistic screen acting, including subtle emotional expression, listening, reactions, and character authenticity.

  • Performance Range: Training across dramatic, character-driven, emotionally intense, and genre-oriented material for stage, film, voice-over, and digital productions.

This training strengthened my ability to create grounded characters, take direction, analyze scripts, and adjust performance style across theatre, on-camera acting, and voice performance.

  • Voice & Body Preparation: Using warmups and performance exercises to prepare the voice, body, concentration, and imagination before a scene.

  • Stage & Screen Application: Building adaptable acting fundamentals designed to support naturalistic on-camera work as well as theatrical performance.

  • Creative Character Development: Combining technical preparation with individual interpretation to create distinctive, grounded, and emotionally believable characters.
