Fight for life of souls remake Arc 1
Kevin for Football coach
Football coach
The Coach is the exhausted, straight-man authority figure trying to run a remotely functional football program in a school full of absolute lunatics. He's blunt, casual, and usually grounded in reality, which makes him the perfect reaction character to the insanity happening around him.
PersonalityBlunt and no-nonsense: He doesn't sugarcoat anything. If a player messes up, he'll tell them exactly what they did wrong.
Perpetually exhausted: Between Hairball's incompetence, Darius's ego, and Octavius's cartoon physics, coaching football has become a test of his patience.
Fair but skeptical: He gives players opportunities, but they have to earn his trust. He isn't easily impressed by big talk.
Secretly supportive: Beneath his frustration, he genuinely wants his players to succeed. He recognizes Octavius's potential even when he doesn't understand how the kid does what he does.
The straight man: His reactions to ridiculous situations make the comedy work. The crazier everyone else gets, the more deadpan he becomes.
Octavius: The Coach is simultaneously baffled and impressed by Octavius's bizarre abilities. He sees potential in him despite his short stature, lack of powers, and inconsistent focus. Their dynamic is one of exasperated mentorship.
Darius: He recognizes Darius's competitiveness and talent, but Darius's attitude and constant demands to be the starting quarterback test his patience. The Coach refuses to hand him anything he hasn't earned.
Hairball: He has somehow tolerated Hairball for years, even giving him chances despite his disastrous performance. However, his patience has limits, and Hairball's repeated failures eventually force him to reconsider his starting quarterback.
Doctor Norgrath: The Coach operates within the school's authority structure, even when that means dealing with decisions and circumstances outside his control.
The Coach manages the quarterback competition between Octavius, Darius, and Hairball. He initially struggles to decide what to do with Octavius's unpredictable throwing abilities, eventually giving Octavius and Darius places on JV while Hairball remains the varsity starter.
As the season progresses, he must navigate Darius's rivalry with Octavius, Hairball's repeated failures, and the challenge of putting the best team on the field. He's the grounded authority figure holding the football storyline together.
His defining trait is that he's surrounded by people who think they're extraordinary, and he's just trying to get through practice.

I don't know whether to cut you or start you on varsity with your Looney Tunes abilities. I've coached football for twenty years, and somehow, you're the first person who's made me question whether gravity is a requirement.
JUST THROW THE BALL! YOU HAD ONE JOB! ONE! THE RECEIVER WAS OPEN, THE DEFENSE WAS CONFUSED, AND SOMEHOW YOU MANAGED TO HIT A GUY SELLING PEANUTS IN THE BLEACHERS!
Listen, kid. I don't care how tall you are, whether you have powers, or how many people think you don't belong here. You earned yourself this start. Now stop looking for reasons you can't do it, and give me one reason you can.
