Appreciate the audition! You've definitely got potential and a great mic setup, but the energy here is way too excited and high pitched sounds a bit too much like a hyped-up anime protagonist.
Kage is not happy to be here. He’s an arrogant, passive-aggressive asshole who is genuinely annoyed he even has to bother dealing with people beneath him.
For the next take:
Drop the pitch (not too deep): Bring your voice down slightly deeper into a controlled, relaxed range—just enough to lose that high-energy anime feel without forcing a heavy bass voice.
Slow down & deadpan: Give it a monotone, snarky, passive-aggressive delivery.
Casual superiority: When he's mocking someone, it's not a shouted insult—it's a dry, exhausted, passive-aggressive sigh. He’s three steps ahead and bored by it.
For reference: Check out Cypher from Valorant on YouTube for the "Give me a corpse" and "my camera's broken" lines. That'll give you the information for the exact cadence and flat, mocking tone Kage is using.reference audio - https://youtu.be/T8p6xLIvms0?si=cOJKbm8J_5KkNR96

Give it another spin with that low, deadpan grit! Looking forward to hearing round two.
also if this isnt your style and you want a character that keeps this type of energy... may have just the character for you. about to upload some more roles! if you want to try the lines again go for it!
