An elderly botanist nearing retirement who has effectively retired to her plants. Eccentric, wise, and an important early scientific mentor to Yulie.

The sides they read from:

  • "Plants are excellent teachers, Ensign Belsnickle; they have no difficulty allowing you to remain wrong until you finally notice."

  • "At my age, retirement means people stop interrupting me while I'm doing the work I wanted to do anyway."

  • "Don't tell this organism what it should be, Yulie. Observe what it has already chosen to become."
