Archetype: Oujidere (Helm)

Gender: Male

A helmsman prince who arrives in rose petals nobody can trace. He can do anything he has rehearsed in front of an audience, and nothing he hasn't.

The archetype, Oujidere: The princely type: gallant, dramatic, rehearsed, all roses and sparkles.

What it means: From ouji (prince). He performs his own charm, poses, and treats life as a stage he's the lead on.

Where the comedy is: Over-rehearsed grandeur, and panic when the performance slips. Roses from nowhere.

Well-known examples: Tamaki (Ouran High School Host Club), Tuxedo Mask (Sailor Moon), JoJo poses.

Built from: Ouran's host king, Prince of Tennis' Atobe, Sailor Moon's Tuxedo Mask, Fullmetal Alchemist's Armstrong (the sparkles, and the shirt), Free!, JoJo poses.

The menace: He strikes a pose before every maneuver, rehearses the maneuver during the maneuver, and freezes the moment there's no script.

How Reo sounds: Adult man. Velvet, theatrical, delighted with himself. Under it, a nervous performer: the locker scene is small and scared. The finale's 'My work here is done' is quiet and real.

The season (8 episodes): A prince comedy of entrances (EP1), poses (EP2) and late arrivals (EP3), turning when a rival prince brings an audience (EP4) and Reo is found in a locker (EP5), through the Host Club's accidental hit (EP6) and an ambush with no rehearsal (EP7), to the one time he does everything (EP8).

The job: write Reo's whole season as short scenes, in our plain-text script format. The story beats and the game outcomes are set; the jokes, the staging and every line are yours. You get a full writer package: the character bible, every episode's beats and choices, how scenes play on screen, and two finished example seasons you can click through.

Length: one character season, 8 episodes of roughly 190 to 250 words each (about 1,520 to 2,000 words in total).

AUDITION - Please mind the delivery format. Ability to deliver correctly formatted work will weigh strongly when choosing writers:

Episode 6, "The Host Club"

Why this one: The Host Club opening night, the rehearsed reveal, and the shirt that tears off unrehearsed.

What you need to know: Reo can do anything he has rehearsed in front of an audience, and freezes without a script. He arrives late to every crisis with a rose, says 'My work here is done', and the Deck Officer always adds that he did nothing.

What happens (the beats are fixed; the jokes, the staging and every line are yours):

- Reo converts a storage room into THE NIGHTSTAR HOST CLUB: roses, soft lighting, and an exhausted crew treated like royalty.

- Opening night has a finale he has rehearsed all week on note cards: the reveal, one shirt button per line of a poem. On the first line his shirt catches in the hatch and tears clean off.

- He freezes. The room doesn't: sparkles from nowhere, the galley hand faints, somebody asks for an encore, and the waiting list fills the corridor.

- He has no idea what he did. He strikes a pose, very late.

Then the player picks one of these:

1. Hand him a spare shirt. He isn't sure he wants it.

2. Ask who else is joining the club.

3. Recruit Yoru for the club. (only offered if Yoru is aboard)

Write: the scene (3 to 8 lines), then the result of ONE choice of your pick (up to 5 lines). A spoken line is up to 40 words.

Format: copy this layout exactly. Auditions that follow it score higher.

BODY

[beat] Narration the player reads. Nobody speaks.

REO (how it's said): A spoken line.

DECK OFFICER (flat) {sweat}: Other speakers work the same way. The {emote} is optional.

CHOICE 2

LABEL: The button text, in the captain's voice. ("Ask her...", "Tell him...")

RESULT

REO (how it's said): What happens after that choice.
