Role: The Antagonist / Maniacal Sorcerer (Male)

Bartruvious is the definition of "dangerously intelligent." He is a sorcerer who views the world as a stepping stone to his own ascension. His voice should drip with sarcasm and spite. We aren't looking for a "brute" villain, but rather a sophisticated, theatrical one. Someone who thinks of themselves as better than everyone else. The actor should be able to balance high-stakes maniacal energy with a cold, condescending wit. Think of someone who finds his enemies' struggles more amusing than threatening.

The sides they read from:

  • (A tone of superiority and confidence) “A fine speech indeed Commander Berthold (Chuckles). Now let me offer my words in retort.”

  • (Announcing to the masses) “But after today you will know me by a new title. Lord Bartruvius GOD of Isla Numus and whatever lies beyond the Great Sea!”

  • (Incredulous with a hint of terror) “But, but, but this cannot be. I was promised I would become a god…”
