Appearances:

Main Character: Book 6

Major Reoccurring Character: Book 4 and 5

Major Guest Character: Book 11

Role Description:

A 15-year-old Halfling and the navigator of the pirate ship The Halemerry. A traditional pirate at heart, he’s young but cunning — always talking fast, always scheming, and always ready to charm his way out of trouble. He is obsessed with maps and directions but hilariously clueless with compasses or any real navigational instruments. Despite this flaw, he’s held the role of ship’s navigator for two years, ever since the last navigator was executed.

Personality Traits:

Quick-witted, excitable, charismatic, mischievous, and overconfident. Loves the thrill of improvisation, but his lack of practical knowledge often gets him (and others) into sticky situations.

Voice Notes:

  • Vocal Range: Mid to mid-high male (teen/young adult). Light, energetic, and slightly boyish.

  • Tone/Style: Fast-talking, charismatic, and cheeky. Speaks with a sense of bravado even when he’s clearly making things up. Has a “street-smart pirate” flair, playful yet sly.

  • Extras: Occasional muttering when thinking on the fly, quick bursts of laughter, occasional pirate-y swagger to the delivery. Should feel like someone who’s always talking himself into and out of trouble.

    • (Curious, rambling) “Quick question. Ummm… how does a compass work? I mean, I know how a map works, but I’ve kinda been winging the rest navigation-wise the last two years.”

    • (Smugly confident, showing off) “Here, I’ve got something I would really like to show you.”

    • (Excited, bragging) “See? I told you we wouldn’t crash into those rocks! …Well, okay, maybe it was close—but close only counts in cannon fire, right?”
