Class Session 2
Gale for Role
Full details of homework is on Closing Credits
Very cute read here, I like the character you've gone for. Theeee dragging on certain words, exaggerations, and whimsy tone are great choices for a cartoonish commercial.
Let's dig into the pacing real quick. I want you to slow down and leave yourself enough room to enunciate every consonant in each word. Your articulation focus seemed to be on the front of your words and getting lax for the rest of it. Compare the way you read "consistently" "delightfully" "best-est-est" to the made up words on the tongue twister. Your tongue twister words come out so much clearer because you give each consonant and syllable attention. Another good example is the way you delivered GGG Company. Each G should be it's own articulation instead of all 3 G's pronounced like a single word. Particularly when working on articulation as a focus, go ahead and bring the read as slow as you need to get that same tongue twister attack on each syllable and consonant in the script.
Another good exercise to do for working on hitting every consonant is to hyper over articulate like some kind of robot. Talk like some kind of early ai or phone voice mail person and "re-a-lly di-vi-de up you-r wo-rd-s" in an almost staccato manner. Staccato being short. punchy, articulations. Like jabs. Doing this forces you to experience and acknowledge all the internal sounds of words and practice them in a way you would never really talk like in real life. Great for articulation awareness and control!
Great job with the homework! Looking forward to more read!
