A high school student and aspiring detective who hopes to solve the mystery of the kidnapping incident he was involved in as a child. While working part-time at a detective agency, he is recruited by the Detective Alliance, and thereby drawn into the events on the island of Morgue in the process. Wato is passionate for his line of work, but is a woefully average individual lacking both brain and brawn--resulting in him being dubbed 'Incompetent Detective' by his fellow detectives. Basically, an average joe without any notable qualities about him.
