First time trying this sort of thing out. Would appreciate feedback and votes!! :D
Voice over is different than the types of performances you are used to, so I am including a bit of beginner's advice along w/my feedback. There is background noise and an echo. If you can, recording in a packed closet helps, but be sure to turn off your A/C, heater, and fan. An acoustical blanket fort would work as well. I recommend this one: https://www.vocalboothtogo.com/product/sound-blanket-producers-choice-with-grommets-black-and-white/ because it is relatively inexpensive and works reasonably well. You have a lot of clicks, which are caused by saliva. It is hard for me to pick them out one-by-one ATM (I have a ruptured eardrum), but try listening w/headphones and volume turned up, paying particular attention to the begining and ending of your words. Before you begin speaking, there were two or three. Try eating a granny smith apple. The voices are cute. I think that you have a lot of potential because of your acting ability and you just need practice and to teach yourself how to do basic audio editing. Most people use Audacity, but I use a basic APP on my iPad called Voice Record. I hope you will try and audition again.
thanks so much for the feedback! I will definitely look into acoustical assistance (I live in a pier-and-beam home, with 21 windows lol). I tried the pop filter once it came in the mail, but it didn't help that much. It looks like I'll need serious sound proofing. Thanks for the lead! I'll look into it.
Try moving from the mic or try moving it a little off to the side. E-mail me when you are all set, if you want to audition again at least for further feedback: [email protected].
