Io is an engineer from an insectoid planet who designed the A.N.T. battle armor. It should have been used in a war against a power-hungry space termite empire but is instead in the hands of a clueless, 13-year-old human girl which is the constant source of headaches. Even if Io has short temper and thinks herself smarter than anyone else she tries the best she can to guide her new protegee to be a better fighter.
This character says few lines in Danish but for this role fluency in the language is not required.
[Mindmistress is asking Mechagical Girl A.N.T. to join her team but Io is against taking A.N.T. armor without her permission. Mindmistress asks if Io made it.] “Damn straight! The name’s Io, and nobody on this mudball could have made anything half as powerful! Just take your own armor. Quaint, obviously hand-made. It’s decent in its own way, but when you compare…”
[Mindmistress has witnessed how agile Lisa is in her battle armor and wonders if she is as graceful without it as well.] “Lisa? Graceful? [Io explodes into a long laughter fit.] …oh my sides!”
[The heroes have managed to take down the Smiling Man’s prisons defenses and are glad they did it.] “We? I figured everything out – you just did as I directed.”
