@rae1stCharacter voice actor with a wide range between male and female characters. Love supporting indie projects and getting back into the game.
My name is Rae First. By day, I am a publishing professional. By...after 5 P.M PST, I act and sing and have been my whole life. I went through professional voice acting training when I grew up in New York. I'd like to get back into it again. I have a mix of different condensers, software, and interfaces.
My current set up as of March 31, 2026:
Rode NTG3 Shotgun XLR
Scarlet 2i2 4th Gen interface
DAW options: Audacity, Adobe Audition, Reaper, Protools
I record in a sound treated, isolated space.
I am very interested in indie projects such as audio dramas, audiobooks, indie comic reads, indie animation, and games. I am hoping to have a new demo soon. I have a wide range as someone who has gone through speech therapy to be able to lower my voice, so I specialize both male and female characters, as well as androgynous when needed. My singing vocal range is an A2 to E5, and can sound masculine, feminine, or androgynous as well. Acting and singing is a sanctuary for me as someone who is disabled and I love a good story and would honored to lend my voice to your project!
I also very much enjoy accent work and can voice act in both English and Japanese. I also speak Chinese, Italian, French, and Hebrew.

BFA in Film and Media studies (courses in description)
I got my film degree at Lafayette College. For this, we studied video and sound editing using industry-standard programs, I also studied abroad in Japan twice and took a number of courses that also contributed to my degree, most notably with sound editing and recording when I was studying in Tokyo. I also stared in the college campus open audition play in my first semester as Sadako in Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. My capstone projects were about film adaptation from foreign media in Japan and why they tend to fail here and wrote two feature screenplays based on that work. Specifically one based on Lupin the III and Black Jack. Additionally, I took acting 101 in my final semester in 2014. The professor was the director of the play she cast me as the lead in in my freshman year. She wasn't particularly happy that I was doing it for an easy A and had to tell me to tone down acting work for the freshmen in scene practices because I made one of them cry while yelling.
This is a musical theater and theater company near my hometown and I was in many plays and musicals with them, some in leading roles, from 6th grade until I graduated high school. This was from 2004 through 2010.

International market research. Two of my suggestions on manga to anime adaptations actually were made a few years later. Young Black Jack and Dororo.
Took a number of private coaching and then demo reel creation when I was younger. The instructor back then was a woman. The website and studio nowadays seems a lot different than it was when I was younger. But I learned a variety of techniques for character acting, narration, and commercial work. Character work was my strongest. While I have a demo from back then, it's 16 years old since this was from around 2007 through 2010 and it's definitely out of date.
negotiable though willing to work unpaid or deferred.
Character driven roles. Audiobooks, audio dramas, games, animation, live roleplay (DnD-based projects). Indie projects of different types. Non-union. I want to get back to doing what I love. I am looking at Indie projects and audiobooks and audio dramas based on books that won't act as a conflict of interest with my job.
