Your Turn to Dub (A Your Turn to Die Fandub)

Your Turn to Dub (A Your Turn to Die Fandub)

Project Overview

Your Turn to Dub

Your Turn to Dub is a fanmade English dub of the visual novel, Your Turn to Die. For those who don't know what Your Turn to Die is, it's a visual novel that follows a group of characters forced to play in a torturous death game. It has branching paths where certain characters die and others live. Some roles for this game have already been filled prior to the publishing of the casting call, and I myself will be playing Keiji Shinogi. You can audition for as many roles as you'd like, but the maximum amount you can be casted as is 2. At the moment, we're just looking for the major roles of the game. The casting call will be updated at a later date with the other needed roles as the fandub proceeds! The requirements aren't too strict, but there are a few.

  • You must be at least 13 years old in order to audition, as things will be handled on discord for the most part
  • You must be willing to dedicate time to this project, and properly meet the deadlines whenever they're presented
  • I'm not very strict on microphone quality, but please do try to have something that sounds decent with little to no background noise

If there are any questions that you may have about this project, please either contact me via messages here, or send me a dm on discord to Tuna#6987. Good luck to everyone, and I look forward to working along with everyone!

Role assigned to: luluenvi

Sara Chidouin is the main character of Your Turn to Die. She’s described by her fellow participants as “strong and dependable” on more than one occasion. Her “samurai attitude” and “take charge, take responsibility” mindset make her a trustworthy ally to others. While Sara is a key player within the Death Game, she also suffers self-doubt. She often believes that she is not as competent or capable as the others believe. At times, she is also plagued with selfish thoughts about saving herself and sacrificing the other contestants for her own safety, but she snaps out of it and stays steady in her conviction to save everyone. Additionally, while Sara can distrust or doubt some of the other participants, she continues to remain mature and work along with everyone as best as she can, always staying dedicated to her goal to beat the Death Game.

  • “Lift your heads up! We’ve always done what we had to do! No matter how cruel!”

  • “This is it!”

  • “Joe... please... respond... open your eyes. Ryoko... your parents. You need to go home to them... don’t you...? Lets go... to school together... with Ryoko....”

Role assigned to: Emichi

Nao Egokoro is one of the 20 participants of the death game, as well as a former student of Professor Mishima. She is initially timid and shy and primarily stays with her teacher Professor Mishima, whom she idolizes to the extent of wanting to stand in anyone's way if they say negative things about him. She is a very emotional and clever person, immediately catching onto the fake Reko's change in personality compared to the real Reko. She also cares about her friends, as shown when talking with Gin, Reko, or Sara. However, throughout the game, she gains immense mental strength and displays that she is no longer easily manipulated when the dolls try to obtain information from her.

  • “I-I’m a former student of Professor Mishima’s! Currently at an art college! My name is Nao Egokoro!”

  • “It’s thanks to Professor Mishima that I attend an art college now! The professor’s a good person! Please believe me! Saraaaa!!”

  • “I've always been... getting saved by them... So from now on... I want to be useful to Reko, and Sara, and everyone. That's why... I'm... going now, professor.”

Role assigned to: Kuricat16

Kanna Kizuchi is a middle school student, as well as one of the 20 participants in the death game. Kanna tends to refer to herself in the third person, indicating a certain level of childishness, although she makes an effort to correct herself sometimes when she catches herself. She is very trusting and naive and believes in Shin despite knowing he manipulated her in the past. She can seem timid but is actually quite not afraid to speak her thoughts. While she was at first referred to as 'Frightened Girl' in Sara's internal alias, this does not appear to be the norm. When she was exploring the third floor with Shin she firmly lectured him for weakly wanting more breaks. Kanna is fairly dependent on those with stronger personalities and often relies on other people for help, due to the self-belief that she is incapable of helping herself or others. Despite being one of the most vulnerable and unstable of the group, Kanna tries her best to be helpful and demonstrates bravery, and the initiative to act. She has also shown some cleverness in how to figure out the password to Kai's laptop when Shin was at a loss, and simply lacks the self-confidence to understand her own value.

  • “Everyone… everyone’s a good person here…!! How can you do this…?! What did we do?! I won’t let this stand…!!”

  • “Thank you, everyone... ...Thank you, Sara.”

  • “There's people who tried to protect Kanna. There's people who worked to encourage her. So... she doesn't want anyone else to die.”

Role assigned to: sneakyhere

Q-taro Burgerberg is a baseball pitcher, and one of the 20 participants in the death game. While he doesn't initially appear to be much more than friendly and easygoing, Q-taro can be selfish and interested in his own survival over most other things in the Death Game. He is often attracted to anything that would secure his life and rarely acts in the interest of others during the Death Game. He is also very anxious about many situations in the death game, as evidenced by his need for a lengthy debate to decide the Challenger during Russian Roulette. Further contrasting his appearance, Q-taro is actually rather intelligent. While probably not academically gifted, Q-taro is good with people and can make them act in ways that benefit him.

  • “I’m Q-taro Burgerburg! Baseball player! Yeah, I’m a ball player, but if ya work out too much and hurt’cherself, you’ll never hit the big leagues.”

  • “I was raised up in an orphanage that’s just a slight bit weird. Had people from all sortsa countries. I got a lotta dialects and stuff mixed in me…”

  • “People who drag things down... are doomed to die sooner or later...! That's true for me... and it's true for you too, right? Don't matter if you're an adult or a kid right now!”

Role assigned to: Rainy

Reko Yabusame is one of the 20 chosen to participate in the Death Game. She is a 23-year-old singer-songwriter. Reko seems intimidating, assertive, and "rough around the edges," especially in comparison to her milder female companions such as Nao and Kanna. However, she's generally friendly and takes on a sisterly role for those younger than her. She seems to act kinder to those who may be seen as "weak." This is shown when Reko immediately comforts Kanna when hearing about her sister and treats her more gently.

  • "Reko Yabusame. I'm a singer-songwriter."

  • “Even if you were a criminal or a real asshole... Right now, you're our guiding hero, standing up against all difficulties. It ain't gonna change that. ...Am I wrong?”

  • “Well... music. I've tossed aside a lot for it. I've cut off people who dragged me down... Made crying and apologizing band members get a taste of my boot... That's just how serious I was! For music alone... I have no regrets!!”

Role assigned to: Aaron R

Kai Satou is a self-proclaimed homemaker and one of the 20 participants in the Death Game. Kai has a seemingly aloof and absentminded nature. He's often quiet, even during intense discussions and accusations. Because of his quiet nature, he isn't considered to be much of a person of interest to the group. Though like the others, he makes it apparent that he wishes to try his best to contribute to their advancement, even if his withdrawn demeanor and weird aura put Sara off.

  • “I am Kai Satou. I’m a rather unremarkable homemaker.”

  • “I suppose it may not be proper to make a young girl handle a gun...”

  • “This is... resistance! Our lives toyed with to our enemy’s whims, we are unable to save a single person. As we die off, this is... my feeble... resistance. But it is one large step... toward counterattack!”

Role assigned to: core

Gin Ibushi is a 6th grader and one of the 20 participants forced into playing the Death Game. Gin tries to remain positive and optimistic despite his situation. While he warms up to people easily, he can occasionally be sarcastic or blunt to them. Gin is rarely melancholy. He is very clingy and gets attached to those he meets. He becomes especially attached to Sara and views her as a completely trustworthy and kind big sister figure. While he may be young, Gin always attempts his best to help the group by finding clues and remains strong despite the circumstances. He ends a lot of sentences with "meow" and "woof" and tends to casually nickname those around him.

  • “I can read the room too, meow! My name is Gin Ibushi, woof! I’m a 6th grader, meow!”

  • “You're not the only one who couldn't do anything, meow...! Me... and all of us...!! We've regretted, woof...! We've suffered, meow!!”

  • “You have to believe in the real Joe, big sis Sara...!!”

Kazumi Mishima

Role assigned to: Knusbi

Kazumi Mishima is a high school teacher and one of the 20 chosen to participate in the Death Game. Being a little odd, Mishima often chuckles after sentences, and his emotions are often in conflict with his appearance. Mishima seems to enjoy acting strangely to amuse others, behaving in cryptic ways and being overly analytical of everyone's actions. His unusual social quirks aside, Mishima makes it clear he has no ill intentions and frequently reminds others to be safe and cautious. Despite his appearance, Mishima is an incredibly kind, caring, and encouraging person.

  • "Hello, I'm Kazumi Mishima. I work at a certain high school... mwahahahaha."

  • “It was a joyous day. My students wished to be taught oil painting, so I held a lesson at my secret atelier…”

  • “There’s nothing to fear in failure. A person’s life does not end there. As long as you live on… Happiness will surely come to you!
