Project Overview

Project Summary

This project is a 3 to 5 minute short animated trailer for my sci-fi fantasy novel "Worldender Obelisk". The final result of this project will be posted on youtube to help promote my novel. All credit would be given to those who voice acted, animated, and edited the trailer in the credits screen. The project will be split into different components

Voice Acting

The script is already written for the trailer. I would just need to collect the lines read off by the incredibly talented voice actors we have. Then compile all of the lines in an audio track to do editing and to add background music / VFX / foliage sound.

Animation

The animation process will be split into multiple parts. Part 1 will consist of obtaining character concept art and background designs. Part 2 will consist of animated scene by scene. There are 9 unique scenes in total, each 30 seconds or less.

Story Synopsis:

In a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by the mysterious Worldender Obelisk, 22-year-old Zena navigates a wasteland filled with monsters and raiders. Empowered by the obelisk's energy, she joins pilgrims seeking a safe haven city called "Eden." Along the way, she forms a bond with a boy, Xavier, who is tragically infected by a mutation from the obelisk's power. Zena embarks on a desperate quest to understand the obelisk and find a cure for Xavier, facing dangerous foes and uncovering dark truths about the cataclysm. With Xavier's life and humanity's future at stake, Zena races against time to overcome these challenges. The true origins of the Obelisk unravel an even darker mysterious than anyone could have ever fathomed.

    Thank you all for your wonderful submissions! I have had an absolute blast listening to all the great talent that turned out to help bring the Worldender Obelisk Animated short project to life! It was one of the harder decisions I have had to make but I have made the final selections for the project! Those who I have selected I will be in contact with via site and discord! Just because you weren't selected, does not mean you weren't talented! I had some really impressive talent show up. I wanted to give a special shoutout to some talent that even though they didn't get picked, I really enjoyed their auditions and look forward to potentially working with them in the future.

Truth is the main villain of the series. He is a plant like alien. He is well spoken, one of the smartest beings in the universe, and very prideful but composed. He has an ominous deep voice and speaks deliberately. His goal is to find the one truth of the universe, and he is willing to trample the innocent to complete his goal. The voice profile I'm looking for is similar to a mix between Thanos from the new MCU or Pain from Naruto. 2 lines in the animated trailer

Looking for someone who works with 2D animation. Adobe Animate CC experience preferred. Anime or comic book art style preferred but any is acceptable. The desired run time is approximately 3 minutes of animation. This job will have profit share along with an initial retainer bonus that can be discussed in detail. Please be ready to provide sample work and be willing to communicate over discord. I know the rate is low but this is a small team and more of an indie project.
