Wonder Man Lives is a story about how a tech CEO sides with the wrong people, turns into a supervillain, rebels into a superhero, and then dies. Multiple times.
This is a Marvel fan project written and directed by me about Simon Williams a.k.a Wonder Man, who after being coerced into an experimental treatment, has to learn what it is to be both a hero and a leader when his father passes away and his company goes to him. Also featured in this project is Vince Peretta, his marketing executive, Madison Dash, his secretary, and Eric Williams, his brother that works for the Maggia as the villainous Grim Reaper. It is a very character driven and comedic superhero story.
This audio drama takes place within an extended universe called the Minecraft Marvel Universe on the YouTube channel Slightly Insulting. This means there is a possibility for your character to be used elsewhere within the universe.
REQUIREMENTS FOR PROJECT:
1. Be prepared to commit! This means be responsive and be punctual with line delivery.
2. I have no preference between XLR microphones or USB microphones, but I do have a preference towards good mic quality. Please have little to no background noise and reduce peaking and plosives as well.
3. Not a requirement but Discord is a preference as the lines will be distributed through it and communication will be done through Discord DMs. If you do not have a discord or are not comfortable with this, this requirement can be worked around.
GUIDELINES FOR AUDITIONS:
1. You may audition for as many characters as you want.
2. If a character has a specified reference voice, please try to replicate said voice. Additionally, if a character has a specified accent, you must do the accent for the audition. If neither is specified or its loosely described, you're free to go with your gut!
3. Just in case anyone asks, you are not required to slate.
4. Please no troll auditions.

Our protagonist! Simon is a young man (Mid-20s) thrust into the unknowns of the world too fast and has to figure out how to come out on top. He's full of energy, (both metaphorically and literally) and is always trying to his best.
Voice Range: Mid to Mid Low
"I-Uh. Wow. Uhm. That was-Wait! Wait, why're you all leaving?! There’s still a reception! I MADE CARROT CAKE!!"
*Villainously* "I’m not Simon! I’m the newest wonder in this world of heroes! I will take Stark down once and for all! I…am…Wonder Man!"
"I…wasn’t as worried about that, but that does make me feel better…Alright. I’m good. Back to worrying. WHY AM I ALIVE?!"
Williams Inventions' marketing executive, and the closest thing Simon has to a father after his own dies. Vince is a wisecracking, wisdom filled working man, who only wants the best for his team. If you couldn't tell, he's based off of old Joe Pesci roles and was written with characters like Vinny Gambini in mind.
"We’re so deep in the red, it’s not even funny. Ever since Stark Industries got that government grant, everyone’s been going to them. We haven’t made a single good ounce of profit since March. Of Last Year."
"Cuz your dad for some reason trusted me the most with making sure you’re okay after he’s gone. And I think you need a team like this."
"Hehe. I gotta bust your balls somehow kid. You’re essentially my own…and I’m proud of ya."
Simon William's personal secretary. She's an energetic, intelligent person, and is happy to help and contribute any way she can. Medium Tone Voice
"It’ll be alright, Mister Williams. I shadowed a lot of what your father did. I can help anyway I can."
"What if…your original body died due to it not being able to handle the ionic energy within it…but your brain waves remained intact and were able to construct a new body from the ionic energy, one that could handle the power you have now!"
"Oh, my god, I didn’t wanna say anything but I am not a small talk person and neither are you."
Simon's older brother, very troubled, very edgy, very much a gangster. He's got little empathy for anybody, including his brother and his late father, since he was branded the black sheep at a young age. Medium-Low Voice
"Literally what is there to talk about? Congratulations, Simon. You now have literal fiscal proof that you were the favorite."
"The sooner you realize that Dad turned me into the black sheep, the better. Wake up and smell the roses, brother."
"Because no matter how much I hate you, you’re my little brother. I can’t turn my back on family the way Dad turned his back on me. "
The megalomaniacal villain of this story (Kind of). Egghead is self-proclaimed scientific genius with a round egg-shaped skull. While very intelligent in theory, he's sloppy due to being blinded by his own hubris. His voice is on the Medium High range, but must be extremely nasally. Think stereotypical nerd.
"I am not oblivious to your whispers. You are discussing my appearance. I care not, however. I wish to discuss something with the new budding CEO alone."
"Tremble in fear of the villainous mastermind that is I! All exits are blocked by my cohorts as you can see."
"…W-what? I worked for weeks on this?! I robbed so many banks!! Where did it go wrong?!"
The mutant pop-star with the power to convert sound into light! Her role in this story shall be secret for now but know that she is a bubbly (but not ditzy), optimistic woman, with a massive amount of passion for her craft. Medium High to High tone
"Did you expect the typical stuck up diva? A lot of people do."
"I mean I make music people like, but I wouldn’t say pop star. "
"Well, I assure you. It’ll be ok. It’s just for show. Just don’t say anything stupid. Smile for the cameras. And talk to interviewers like a person. You had PR training, right?"
It's Sean Bean. That's all there is to it. Try your best to sound like Sean Bean.
"Just call me, Sean. We’re friends here. Especially in your plight, Simon."
"No one ever believes me."
