Witches' Brew (Animated Short Film)
Project Overview
Witches' Brew (Not Actual Title) is a short animation I am making to release on YouTube for all to see. It follows two sisters, Sage & Anise, as they perform a cooking show from their cottage in the woods and broadcast it to television. They create potions and prepare them with different recipes to teach the viewers at home how to cast spells and curses.
- The overall theme of this project is that you can't make someone to love you and expect to be happy. You need to first love yourself
- This project is very precious to me so I am looking for actors who will take it as serious as I do. The two sisters have about 300 words worth of dialogue each. If that is too much work I understand and encourage you not to audition if you can't deliver that many words worth of lines.
- The accents I am looking for in the sister's voice are mostly leaning toward a French accent or an English (British) one.
- Remember this is a cooking show! So the dialogue reading must reflect that of two television chefs speaking to an audience!
- The sister's have the appearance of women in their 20's but they both have the maturity, wisdom and wit of women in their 40s.
Requirements:
- A quality microphone with little to no background noise in your recordings.
- Willing to take direction. (Just to get tonality right.)
- Able to deliver lines in a timely fashion. (Within a month more or less.)

Sage is a minute older than her sister. She is the wiser of the two and takes life serious but also makes jokes constantly. She keeps a straight face but she is just as kind as her sister.

"Welcome to "Witches' Brew". My name is Sage and this is my sister Anise."
(Asking her sister to hand her a book) "Anise. Hand me the Botanmoire. (pronounced like the French word 'Grimoire')"
(Reading the description of an herb.) "Used in a multitude of spells in the family of love and lust, this plant is the base ingredient for popular hexes such as Lover’s Lie & Imposter’s Kiss."
Anise (Ah-niece) is the slightly younger sister who listens to everything Sage tells her to do. She is clumsy and very anxious.

(In regards to a certain potion.) (Said deviously as if she likes the idea of it tasting bad.) "They say it taste like the saliva of a paramour."
(Telling a story to the viewers.) "Well the other day while I was in the garden I noticed something. (pause) While I was adjusting the ladies hats and collars, I noticed the cat rummaging through the hen house.-"
