What's Your Destination? (Audio Drama Pilot)

Project Overview

What's Your Destination?
In a future where space travel is as common as hopping into a car, two mismatched drivers, Kirin and Lukia, cruise the cosmos in their trusty ship, the firebird, taking on a variety of odd jobs and passengers through the Space Uber-like service, Zenith. Alongside them is their AI companion, SAIFEN, who provides navigation, information, and occasional comic relief.


I want the audio drama to feel semi-serialized, with each episode featuring a “self-contained” adventure or mission that the crew of The Firebird undertake. (working plot) These little space jaunts could range from transporting eccentric passengers to distant planets to smuggling illegal cosmic pot brownies into an executive meeting. While navigating through dangerous space anomalies, the crew will encounter quirky characters, face unexpected challenges, and find themselves in hilarious predicaments.


Eventually I will introduce an overall plot that helps tie the universe of WYD together.

I will be writing and producing the podcast. The pilot episode has been written already. I've also drafted a few outlines for some other episode. I am open to cowriting if it begins to be too much to do both. Writing an audio drama has been a dream of mine. I'd love to bring this story to life!

    I'm Jash, creator of What's Your Destination? We're closing auditions earlier than expected because you guys are so great! We've received more auditions than we could have imagined. We should be finished casting all roles by Monday June 17th.

    We hope to release the pilot episode of What's Your Destination? by July 12th! SAIFEN: Every ship is outfitted with an AI companion. Originally these were installed to stop solo drivers from falling into psychological distress due to isolation. Synthetic Autonomous Intelligent Facilitator for the Emotionally Null otherwise known as SAIFEN is the AI onboard the Firebird. He is equipped with a sarcastic sense of humor and a vast database of knowledge. SAIFEN serves as the voice of reason and guidance for Kirin and Lukia. SAIFEN’s sassy remarks often add to the chaos rather than help alleviate.

Have fun with this one! I was thinking Jarvis (Marvel), Ordis (Warframe), Codsworth (Fallout 4). Accents are welcome.

  • (poking fun) Kirin, I must say, that last dropoff was less than stellar. You could have avoided that debris field if you followed the optimal route. Zenith protocols clearly outline the client- (gets cut off)

  • It’s hardly backtracking. It only feels that way because you are, oh so great at following directions.

  • (defeated) Oh nothing… the universe is doomed if Zenith thinks you’re a good employee.

Lukia: fresh graduate from the top of her class at Zenith Technical Institute. The eager but inexperienced rookie driver. She’s enthusiastic about exploring the universe and is determined to prove herself as a capable Zenith space driver. Lukia’s enthusiasm often gets her into trouble, but her heart is in the right place. Definitely one of the smartest people in the room at any given time.

I didn't have a voice to base Lukia off of so there is creative freedom with this one. Have fun!

Captain Morgan is the mastermind behind many of the space bandit operations in the WYD universe. They are known for their cunning strategies and ruthless efficiency. They have built a formidable reputation in the underworld. Morgan crossed paths with Kaiser during Kaiser's undercover time amongst their organization. Morgan and Kaiser were quite close during this time. Morgan perceived Kaiser's abandonment from the group as betrayal. Morgan harbors a complicated mix of emotions, including a grudging respect and lingering camaraderie. It isn't clear whether or not Morgan's organization is good or bad.

I've been working on this story for a little while now but I know once the audio drama goes into production phases and post production, it is going to be a lot of work to keep the scripts and story going. It would be nice to have someone to bounce ideas off of.
