Voice Line Drafting Tests For A Caring but Overprotective and Possessive Mother

Voice Line Drafting Tests For A Caring but Overprotective and Possessive Mother

Project Overview

This project is an animation intended to deal with a strong maternal bond that a mother imposes on her daughter, which is equal parts loving, controlling and protective. The mother is a complex character with several incidents in her own life that have influenced how she raised her daughter and that compels her to act how she does. For the purpose of animation tests, I will require a VA to perform a collection of dialogue lines for this character, they will be rough drafts, but they will be very useful for the purpose of building rough visual drafts for the project.

This is a paid role ($30 USD) for the full voice lines recorded and sent - depending on your talent and fit for the role, I may reach out to you to be involved for the full project.

The performance runs the gauntlet from angry to sad to calm, so go for diversity in your performance. Share any ways you can relate to the character too, especially if you are a mother or have strong maternal responsibilities or obligations.
I know how many applications a paid role can get, so I will endeavor to listen to everything I can, and leave constructive comments, however it'll keep me busy.

  • Where are we meant to go when you run away? The police? If she hadn't called...Without that, how would we have known you were even gone? When we find you dead in a ditch somewhere?

  • What did Cali tell you Red? Things would be better out there, you could drink and play around with boys and do whatever you want? I'm not blaming you or her for thinking that. I used to think that. But it's wrong, you know. Don't believe everything your friends say. No one says those things to help you. They do it for themselves. It's a lot easier to say yes to them, isn't it? You don't want to be the loser or the stupid one, right?

  • I used to cry a lot, thinking about you. I guess I was afraid that no matter what I did, you would hate me. This is coming out all wrong. How can I say it… I feel like today is that day. And no matter what I do right now, you won't love me enough to make things right.
