Plot
Yuki's earliest memory is of a stormy night in winter, where she was attacked by a rogue vampire and rescued by Kaname Kuran, a Pureblood vampire. Now ten years later, Yuki Cross, the adopted daughter of the headmaster of Cross Academy, Kaien Cross, has grown up and become a guardian of the vampire race, protecting her childhood crush, Kaname, from discovery as he leads a group of vampires at the elite boarding school. At her side is Zero Kiryu, a childhood friend who's hatred for the creatures that destroyed everything he held dear leaves him determined never to trust them. This coexisting arrangement seems all well and good, but have the vampires truly renounced their murderous ways, or is there a darker truth behind their actions? Because in this world of secrets, nothing is as it seems. And the price of misplaced trust may even be worse than death. Should Yuki truly find out what was in her past, is the truth going to hurt her worse than not knowing?

Zero is generally a composed person he is also protective of Yuki. Before the second 'part' he showed human Yuki his emotions and did not usually act hostile, and cold hearted, as he usually seemed to be towards the other Cross academy students.
"Drinking blood on school ground is prohibited. Perhaps you were drunk with the sweet smell of blood, Aido."
"Listen up, brats! Get the hell back to your dorms! Why do I have to deal with you running around screaming "Kyaa! Kyaa!" every damn day?! Why?! "

Maria is a very fragile, feminine vampire. When she was first introduced, she was possessed by the Pureblood, Shizuka and was displayed as haughty and cruel. However, her true personality is quite the opposite.

Seiren seems to be a no-nonsense type of girl, and can always be trusted to get her job done. She can seem cold, but is very loyal. She is a very quiet and enigmatic character who only speaks when necessary.

Yori seems to be one of the few girls who is not interested in the Night Class. She finds them a bit scary and stated that she would prefer someone from the Day Class. Yori is also very observant, as she notices a lot of things that happen to Yuki, especially when she gets hurt or is very depressed.

Takuma appears very un-vampire like with his cheerful, enthusiastic, and caring demeanor whether it be towards humans or vampires. However he is also very capable of being deadly and determined when the situation requires.

"To use a pyramid as an example... former humans are lower than common vampires. To tell the truth, they aren't treated very well. The vampire I killed... was a Level E vampire-a vampire who's fallen outside the pyramid."

Ruka usually reflects a haughty, bored, unapproachable, and uninterested person to the rest of the world, probably due to her noble upbringing. She is portrayed to show disdain to those considered lower than her, or just simply ignoring them, refusing to ackowledgee their presence.

Ichiru was a complicated person marked by many conflicting emotions and actions. Although he was very close to Zero as a child, he nevertheless struggled with the inevitability of being left behind by his brother as well as the strain of not being able to make it as a hunter.

Kaname is generally a calm, elegant, stoic and authoritative individual. However, he becomes a completely different person with Yuki; to her, Kaname is very gentle and warm. This disposition bothers the Night Class vampires, who initially do not understand his favoritism towards her. Yuki herself feels confused about how Kaname lovingly cares for her.

Akatsuki is a calm person who rarely loses his cool and often needs to reign in an impulsive feud between Aido and Ruka. He is incredibly perceptive and is frequently sensitive to others' feelings. His association with Aido frequently gets him into trouble despite not being directly responsible.

Yuki was generally a cheerful caring and a rather comedic girl with her beloved smile. She was considered a poor student because she dislikes studying and falls asleep in class due to the fact that she stays up all night monitoring the school grounds and protects the Day Class students from sneaking into the Night Class students.

Kaien sports a cheerful personality, yet can be serious at the same time. It can be said that he has a few odd personality quirks, such as his propensity to launch into tearful dramatics over the idea of being a poor parent to Yuki. Additionally, he enjoys ribbing his adopted children, particularly Zero, often mocking him about being a vampire as he refuses to consider Kaien and Yuki family, a fact which Kaien jokingly claims breaks his heart. He also enjoys cooking very strange food and making Yuki and Zero eat it.
"You can drink my blood if you want to, Zero."
"I want to put an end to the war between humans and vampires; a war that has been continuing in the darkness of history since ancient times! I want the young vampires, with their natural intelligence and unfettered hearts, to become a bridge between the two species!! I'm educating them for that purpose! That is why I created the night class."

Shiki possesses a personality similar to that of Rima Toya. He is usually impassive, and often detached to the rest of the vampires except for Rima and Ichijo. He rarely expresses emotion, and may seem like he doesn't care about his surroundings. Because of his reserved nature, he keeps to himself, and never has much to say,

Juri was described as a cheerful and strong woman who puts her family first.[1] She was mischievous and playful and enjoyed teasing Kaname. Even though Juri and Yuki had the same appearance, they have very different personalities. Juri was blunt, easily irritated by Haruka and sometimes loud and fierce when she lost her temper.

Rima possesses a strong and self-assured personality similar to Senri. She tends to expand energy only when necessary, and is usually a lady of few words. Normally, she comes across as a quick thinker, indifferent and aloof, but is often seen to be worrying about Senri and Takuma Ichijo.
Sen...ri! You idiot! Letting someone else take over your body...what are you doing, you really need to love yourself more Senri!
