Whispers from the Void (Horror Audio Drama)

Project Overview

Whispers from the Void is an immersive audio drama that plunges listeners into a world where the boundaries between reality and the supernatural are blurred. Follow the gripping tale of Richard Harrison and Jason Vasquez as they unravel the dark secrets hidden within their city, confronting eldritch horrors and ancient cults that threaten their sanity and existence.

We have two of the main episode out, available for listening, with 6 more written and a few more in the works for the first season. Episode 3 is set to be released later this month.

Sadly the voice actor for Jason is having to step away from the project due to personal life, so here we are. Here is what is required:

  • Be 18+ years or older, no exceptions. Thank you.

  • Have a good quality microphone, and recording set up

  • Clear audio recordings

  • Willingness to take direction

  • Able to work on the project long term

  • Communication, it's key

For the audition here is what I need from you:

  • Do 2-3 takes

  • ABCABCABC format

And finally I will be adding more characters to this call, though for the point being, we need Jason and will be cast as soon as we find someone.

  • New Casting Call!!

    Thank you all so much for those who auditioned! You all have a great voice and you make it very hard to narrow it down. First of all I have created a new call, with voices needed to finish off the rest of the season, at least all the named/major voices in the show. We have a recast amongst the list of characters as well, character named Barbara.

    For those who auditioned for the Cultists and Mike, I shall be making my casting choice by end of day Monday. And for those interested in Valaxir, while I did not make my voice yet, the character is still open. I will be reaching out to those here to did with some slight direction and notes and would love for you to give it a try again.

Needs: He needs to broaden his perspective and embrace more diverse experiences to truly understand the world and his place in it.Weakness: His narrow-mindedness and self-centered nature often hinder his personal growth and relationships. He struggles to see beyond his immediate needs and desires.

Goal: Jason's goal is to open his mind to the possibilities beyond his current life, seeking to understand and experience more of the world.

Backstory: Jason was born in Houston but moved to a rural area at age 10, where he felt stifled and constrained, leading to rebellious behavior. Disliking authority and the small-town mentality, he moved back to Houston after high school. He has dabbled in minor illegal activities, driven by a need for quick success and recognition. Now, as a bartender, he keeps his life simple — work, sleep, and gaming with his childhood friend Richard. Yet, his past experiences and the dynamic energy of Houston are slowly pushing him to reconsider his ambitions and broaden his horizons.

Voice Profile: Medium-tone, casual everyday kind of voice,Texan, though more urban accent than a rural country accent. Must be able to do screams, grunts of pain, and other actions sounds

CHARACTERISTICS: everyday kind of man, doesn’t tend to bullshit unless he needs to, tries to do his best everywhere he can, general nice guy, driven to the Order by his want to make his life safer for his family

Mike is a dentist and someone who doesn’t want his family to want in life. After a few years of making a good list of clients, he was invited to join a small group meeting. It turned out to be a recruiting mission for the Order and is what led Mike to his new life. A few years in the Order, Craftsman Mike does the dirty work for the Order.
