[CANCELLED] UnOrdinary Fan Dub

Project Overview

[MESSAGE]

Hello! I'm Wiz, the director of this novice project. This will be my fifth ongoing series, but worry not, since this Casting Call's purpose is to acquire help so that I'm not overwhelmed. What we need are mainly voice actors and video editors, as this will be a comic dub.


[RULES FOR EDITORS]

1. Information: In the description of your submission, please include some basic information about your editing, such as the editor you use, your availability, etc.

2. Communication: Please include your Discord tag in the description, as that is how I will be communicating with everybody.

3. Dedication: By applying, you are agreeing to be dedicated to the project, and turn in the final product on time.

4. Expectations: If you were to get the job, you would be expected to edit a 1-3 minute comic dub (with voices, music, sound effects, camera movement, etc.) in a 1-2 week timeframe. 


[RULES FOR VAs]

1. Timing: Please submit your audition on time! It would help a ton.

2. Quality: Try to use a decent microphone, with as little background noise as possible.

3. Dedication: By auditioning, you are agreeing to be dedicated to the project, and to submit all your lines on time!

4. Communication: Please include your Discord tag in the audition, as that is how I will be communicating with everybody.

5. Acting: This will be a voice ACTED dub. Please try to put some emotion into your lines!

6. Age: I’d like everybody that is participating to be at least 13 years old. This is because the voices should match the characters, who are all in high school.

7. Characters: You can audition for as many characters as you want! However, you may only audition once per character, but you can do multiple takes within that voice file.


[EXTRA INFORMATION]

1. Deadline: The deadline is July 31th, but I may be closing some characters before that. However, if certain characters have not been closed by that date, the deadline will be extended.

    My team and I have gone through the auditions for most of the characters and have casted who we saw most fit. If you didn't get a role, don't worry, there are still 8 slots open, so be sure to audition! For a majority of the story (up until a few of the recent episodes), Arlo holds the title "King of Wellston." He is one of the strongest students at the school, and demonstrates many leadership qualities. He is responsible, confident, cold, and serious. His ideology can be summed up with the idea of hierarchy, and the fact that stronger individuals should set an example for weaker individuals.

Vocal range: Mid to low

  • (Harsh) "No, I prefer to stand. I enjoy looking down on people."

  • (Calm) "Yeah, it's quiet here. It can clear my mind. And I don't have to bother with all the nonsense down below." 

  • (Disgusted) "Why not keep your distance? It's because you want all the authority of a king without having to deal with any of the burden. So you're leeching off of me, just how you leeched off Seraphina, you're greedy."

To her peers, Remi is known as the "Queen of Wellston." However, despite her powerful abilities and high status, she's actually extremely open minded and kind. Throughout the story, she demonstrates that she is resourceful, creative, and determined. Unlike many other students, she doesn't look down on those with lower rank than her, which is most likely because of her family background.

  • (Mad/Mocking-ish) "Hey! Give that back, Arlo! I called that piece first!"

  • (Melancholy) "Maybe... they don't have as much freedom as we think..."

  • (Passionate) "I'm done sitting around and waiting for nothing to happen. How many Superheroes have to die before these people finally find something?"

Blyke is Wellston's Jack, meaning that he's pretty powerful. He might not be as strong as Arlo or Seraphina, but he's still a force to be reckoned with. He's depicted to be someone who's loyal to the people he considers friends, and is pretty open and straightforward. However, his temper does seem to be somewhat uncontrollable.

Vocal Range: Mid to mid-low

  • (Furious) "I don't want to lose anymore! You won't kill me that easily!"

  • (Firm) "You... Keep in mind, this guy attacked you for a reason. So while you're in the infirmary, you can reflect on all the times you've pissed someone off in the past."

  • (Reassuring) "If John comes after you, we'll be here! We won't let him touch you!"

A little way into the comic, Isen is promoted to Head of Press by Arlo. He is decently strong, and somewhat of a leader figure in the series, though he doesn't believe he is suited for those kinds of positions. Compared to the people he hangs out with (Remi and Blyke), he is extremely goofy and laid back. He dedicates himself to finding out the juiciest information for news stories, and can be pretty gossipy at times. He is somewhat of a coward.

Vocal Range: Mid to high

  • (Angry) "You idiot... I lend you my pen for just one class period, and you go and break it!"

  • (Nervous) "Woah, calm down buddy! We can't go in 3v1! That's just gonna piss him off!"

  • (Frantic) "Why the h*ll did they just make me do that? Don't tell me... Homicide?! I've been doing my job badly, so they're here to punish me!"

Cecile has experienced many power shifts in her career as a student at Wellston. First, she was the Queen, and then she was the Head of Press (later to be replaced). She seems to be conceited, and looks down on low-tiers. She shares some common ground with Arlo, though, as they both believe that those who are stronger should be at the top. Though she makes a big deal about exposing the "truth," she is described by her peers to be untrustworthy.

Vocal Range: Any

  • (Pompous) "Just as I thought. You may hold the title, but you're too pathetic. You have no authority. If you want something, establish your dominance and take it. When people know their place, nobody steps out of line. That should be the first thing you learn."

  • (Harsh) "This world isn't all unicorns and rainbows. Kindness and sincerity won't be reciprocated. And charitable actions won't inspire others to do the same. The whole thing is just a waste of effort."

  • (Fuming) "Arlo... completely disregards ranking! First, he gives my Royal title over to a weakling... and now, my press leadership has been handed over to another weaking! He keeps preaching about order while sitting on a throne he doesn't deserve!"

  • (Arrogant) "So in this school, there's a hierarchy that everyone follows. And since you're a cripple, you're at the very bottom. You must do everything we say."

Compared to the bullies, these males are much more likeable. They are more open-minded, soft spoken, or kind. Some characters you'll be voicing are Rei, Terrence, and Adrion.

  • (Scared) "Uhh... what was that s-supposed to mean? H-he's not gonna come for us too, is he?"

  • (Nervous) "What is this?! I thought he was a cripple. But Arlo is still smiling! So things must be going as planned."

  • (Thoughtful) "Well, if you think about it, all evidence kinda point to you. You had that dispute with Zeke in the hallway... and a while later, someone had taken him down."

  • (Concerned) "Hey Arlo... Is something wrong? You've been awfully disconnected lately."

  • (Reflective) "It was over so quickly... I woke up, and she was already done. Someone we had attempted to take down so many times was beaten just like that! High-tiers really are in a completely different realm from the rest of us..."

  • (Disgust) "Greedy pig. I have no use for someone like you."

  • (Furious) "Don't try to be fresh with me, brat!"
