Underverse Season 1 (AVA Dubs)

Project info:
Hello, I'm Scarlett, creator and director of AVA Dubs.
I'm doing a fandub of Underverse Season 1, just for fun. This is a good project for anyone who
1. Wants to be apart of a project
2. Hasn't been in the Undertale community in a while
3. Is just bored and wants to do some voices
I'm aware that other Underverse fandubs exist, and my goal really isn't to be better than anyone else here or anything like that. I just wanted to do this, and since all the difficult parts of making such a project have essentially already been done through the existing animation, all we'd have to really do is add the voice element to it!
Underverse info:
Underverse (originally called Underverse!Sans) is the animated series created by Jakei95 majorly connected to the XTale. It follows the story of Sans, and how one visit by an unfriendly face would mark the start of what was to be the greatest fight for the multiverse.
The series is split into two parts: Season 1 focuses on the events caused by Cross/X-Event!Chara, and Season 2 focuses on the conclusion of the overarching events caused by XGaster. This dub will only be focusing on Season 1*.
*Note: If we do find mild success doing this and there is demand for the rest of the series, as well as everyone on board is okay with continuing, then we may work on some Season 2 as well as XTale.
Audition Requirements/Info:
- Must be 13 or older (duh)
- Must have some simple way of communication, preferably Discord
- Do NOT slate your auditions
- Your mic must be decent, if you sound like I'm listening through a phone call then it's probably not a good mic. Preferably a condenser mic through an audio interface, but if you have something that sounds just as good then I'll allow it.
- If the line is short enough that you can do multiple takes, then please do so. (No more than 3)
- If you have voiced one of these characters before, especially the original Undertale cast, you may upload your previous work.
- You may audition for multiple characters.
Additional info:
I would like to try live recording through Discord calls for this project, however if you are unavailable at any point, that's fine, you may record your lines on your own and I can give feedback afterwards.
Some supporting characters have alternate universe variants. For consistency sake, I'd prefer for the variants to all have one voice actor which is the reason I put them all in one roll. However, if you can't do the variants that's fine, just do what you can and clarify in your audition notes.

Voice Description*: Compared to OG sans, Ink!sans is a very lighthearted, playful, and usually optimistic character and his voice should reflect that. I imagine he has a young, energetic-sounding voice. If I had to give an age to his voice, it'd probably be 16-18, though on the higher side pitch-wise.

Personality:
Ink supports all kinds of art, like painting, literature, dance, music, etc. He is very passionate about art and likes to motivate characters and creators. He’s able to change clothes on people just by using his brush, and he loves to create the kind of outfit they like. Even though he uses art as a tool, no one really saw his drawings or paintings. He is afraid of whiteness, of the absence of presences or shapes around him, loneliness, huge empty spaces…
Ink!Sans has a tendency to get too excited about things. He happens to sometimes randomly vomit ink, mostly when he gets too emotionally shaken, whether from passion or shock. He also has a very short memory and will forget about different things - sometimes stopping mid-sentence to try and remember what he just said a few seconds before. This is why he takes notes on his scarf.
Ink does not appear as a perfectly well-behaved character. He can be inconsiderate, or even downright mocking and cruel, with his opinions, and deep down he sees other characters as fake story characters and not as creatures like him. He tends to be somewhat detached from his emotions. With him hardly having a proper social understanding, he’s blunt in his teasing and mocking just like in his ability to give support and to be kind. He’s a mischief-maker, and pranks are his guilty pleasure.
Ink approaches enemies carefully. He will never try to attack them first, but will mostly focus on trying to discover their motives and talk them through it. Although he does come off as a jerk on first impression, he does know what to analyze to understand the issue so he can brush people the right way and hopefully have them listen. Ink in general acts wittily and provocatively.
Bio:
Ink came from a conceptual AU that never got off the ground. He’s the first and only character with a true soul; yet despite his best effort to improve the AU, he never got a reaction from the inhabitants. In a fit of despair, he destroyed his own soul; accidentally causing him to stumble into the blank void. There he became an emotionless being alone in the vast space of emptiness.
Eventually, an ink brush (along with different kinds of paint) from an unknown artist fell into the blank canvas, each color imbuing him with feeling. After some time without color, though, he would revert to his emotionless self. Ink fixed this problem by filling vials with the colors that were splashed on him. It allowed him to pretend to have a soul so that he could feel. Gradually, Ink used the colors from the creators to create the doodle-sphere.
Eventually, he stumbles upon a portal that leads to the source code where all of the paints and colors goes to. It doesn't take long for him to discover their true purpose; to imprint the Creators' Emotions in the forms of Undertale Fan work (AUs, Fan arts, etc.). Seeing this he came to the conclusion that, in order for him to remain in this fulfilling emotional state, He has to encourage the creators to keep making and maintaining their own creations so that the paint keeps flowing through the doodle-sphere itself. Thus, to keep a steady supply of emotions for him to harness, he dedicates himself to being the Muse of the Undertale Creative Community, while he protects their creations from those who wish to harm them; be it vandals or any other off-scripted out!codes.

Voice Description*: Compared OG sans, Cross is a lot more serious, his attitude can be best described as "edgy." His voice sounds a lot more mature, being in the low-mid range and with a more clear tone compared to the usual, thicker sounding sans voice.

Personality from UT Fanon AU Wiki
Personality:
Although he had a lot of similarities with Underswap Sans during XTale, Cross throughout Underverse became more like his polar opposite. He's an aggressive, introvert and hostile, with selfish behaviors from time to time, being who also shows howsoever no concern for those that aren't close to him, as he had no problem harming other people to reach his goal. Cross would resort to violence even to the slightest problem, seeing as he punched Dream twice despite only being offered help because of the guardian's interference in his business.
Despite his cold self on the outside to strangers, Cross has a soft spot for those who he cares on the inside, since he fell into grief for losing his home and family after obliterating them, and resorted to hunt other universes to blindly "bring them back". His main trait that also represents XGaster is his lack of trust in others because of the countless wrong people he put his faith on. However, even with his attitude, Cross never showed any sort of malicious intent like Nightmare or Error, only longing for his universe and desperately trying to fix his mistake.

If you want to do the voice modulation yourself, that's fine. But for audition sake, I need an audio with and without modulation.
Voice description*: Compared to OG sans, ERROR is a helluva lot more sadistic and self centered. Voice wise, he's probably the most similar to a normal sans voice, his voice "quirk" (for lack of a better word) is the modulation that is usually put on his voice, making it sound unstable and glitchy.
For reference, Audiospawn's ERROR!!!sans, though it doesn't really need to be so deep.

Personality and Bio from UT OC Wiki
Personality:
He has a selfish and playful personality and thinks he's helping out the multiverse. He steals things, raids and destroys AUs to name a few things he does. He loves to play jokes, and make snarky teases at his enemies. Canonically, he doesn't get mad until things don't go his way, how he expected it to happen, or when others trigger one of his fears. And although he has a lot of hatred toward non-canon materials regarding Undertale, the ones that slightly deviate from the original annoys him the most.This makes him, as the creator best put it, a literal man baby.
Bio:
Error is a version of Aftertale Sans (Geno) that messes around with dangerous determination magic, even with warnings from Sans. He eventually accidentally sends himself to the anti-void. To which, in his final moments of sanity, he's furious that even though he got his happy ending, this had to happen. Geno lost his sanity to hating everyone and anyone except for himself, which is why Error is so hateful and calls everyone 'glitches' or 'abominations'.

Voice Description*: Nightmare isn't necessarily the most popular of alternate sanses, but I will try my best to give a description regardless. I imagine his voice to be deep and mildly unsettling. He is a very cunning character who feeds off of negativity and does what he wants, when he wants.

Personality:
He's deceiving, erratic, and unpredictable. He sees everyone's as mere tools to further his goals and is completely devoid of empathy. He's also Intelligent, and often comes up with countless schemes to bring absolute suffering to existence. He's filled with pure and utter hatred, wanting everyone to be in a perpetual state of torment.

Voice Description*: Dream is a supporting character who doesn't play as much of a role in the story. I imagine his voice to be youthful & innocent. He quite literally is a byproduct of positive energy after all.
*Note: This character is more open to interpretation than most, there's not much info about him and he's not seen very often.

Personality/Behavior:
As a byproduct of positive energy, Dream display a quirky, yet unconfident personality. While he is too talkative and over-dramatic, he does give concern that something terrible could happen and, in response, tries to settle down the issue. For example, Sans begins to feel that something is wrong with Ink, but his conversation is cut short by Dream.

Voice Description: Killer is one of the more rare types of sanses. In his timeline, he joins forces with a genocidal Chara and kills everyone himself.
I imagine Killer to sound similar to normal sans, but more formal and soft-spoken similar to Chara. He is a psychopath, he feels nothing for anyone, not even his own brother. He speaks in a calm and rational way, despite the things he's done, does, and will continue to do.

Voice Description: Fell is one of the more popular sanses, arguably one the MOST popular ones. Because of this, despite not technically having an official voice, like OG sans & Papyrus, there is a certain voice that he's usually associated with. Fell's voice is usually a mid-low, rough voice with a New York accent. The best reference I can give is Husk from Hazbin Hotel. This is probably the only voice that I'm not going to allow much interpretation on.

Personality:
Unlike Classic Sans, who is kind and laidback, Underfell Sans is a different case. He is crude, mean and has a stranged relationship with his brother. He is frequently abused by Papyrus to the point where he calls him boss in public. Because of his more aggressive personality, Sans also shows hatred towards humanity after they sealed monsters underground.

Voice Description: Swap sans is a lot more upbeat and optimistic than OG sans. He's got Papyrus' personality and mannerisms. I imagine his voice to be in the higher register and sounding more "awake" if that makes sense.

Voice Description*: Fresh is the embodiment of a 90's cool kid, literally being described by his creator as a "90's piece of trash." His voice is that of a young adult male and the way he speaks is similar to that of a stereotypical surfer. He says words like "radical" and "broseph," that alone should give you a good idea of what he would sound like. Also, miraculously, he's not technically a sans.

Personality:
Fresh is completely lacking in emotions and incapable of love. He has a lax attitude and tends to be a very 'go with the flow' type personality. Most of this is due to his lack of caring for basically anything. Fresh is very 'PC', he digs PSA's and is not a fan of swear words, as he will censor people almost always. He is also woefully oblivious of his own words and actions sometimes, he very much likes to be a 'totes rad broseph' but is blunt to a fault (due again to his total lack of caring, and therefore empathy) and will blurt out the truth before he thinks of what he's saying.
Updated Info* He is fun and cool and loving kind of person, trustworthy and humorous. He deeply cares about others and is all around a chill guy* The information above mostly supports peoples imaginations more then his actual attitude which is bright and fun to be around and incredibly cool. He is a warm person and usually has a great sense of humor.

Voice Description: Swap Papyrus is similar to sans in terms of his mannerisms. With that being said, I imagine he has Papyrus's accent and all, but his voice range and tone is that of sans'.
Interestingly enough, similar to his original counterpart, he's rather short tempered compared to sans.

Voice Description: Dr. W.D. Gaster is the former royal scientist of the underground. Compared to Alphys, he's a lot more formal and analytical. He sounds like what you think a professional scientist, though something about the way he speaks most times sounds like there's alternative motives behind his words. And that's because there are.
Personally, I imagine he'd sound like your usual cunning British bad guy.

Voice Description: I imagine C!Chara's voice to be that of a young child, and a quite a cunning one. They are an anti-hero, they are very manipulative and stubborn.

Behavior:
Once X!Gaster transforms him to the X-Event, he plots with X!Frisk for everyone to kill X!Gaster. Later on, his experience with Cross wasn't really a nice one, as he tries to manipulate him into doing things he wouldn't do, and verbally insults him and others he finds unremarkable. After he gets a human soul, he's shown to be a sadistic child who would continued to make everyone suffer at his own will. Even so, he's too much of a talkative person, where his chats would eventually bore Nightmare!Sans.

Voice description: Frisk's voice is just that of a young child (10-12 years old), they are very passionate and caring. They usually speak in 2nd person, Frisk is meant to represent the player, aka you. So they often say things like "You feel like this is a bad idea."
Voice description: CORE!Frisk is blunt and practically emotionless when they speak. They are a young child and the product of interesting factors.

(Original) Voice Description*: Toriel is a mother-figure in the main story of Undertale. This is consistent through all of her alternate versions. Her voice should sound like an older adult woman (canonically she's pretty old, but she only ages when she has children, and she no longer does, so she's really only in her early 30's) and she should generally just sound motherly, referring to young children as "my child."
(Swap) Voice Description*: Swap Toriel has Asgore's mannerisms, she is a queen (figuratively and literally) and very powerful. She's still motherly, but she acts more casually than the original Toriel. If OG Toriel is one of those awkward embarrassing moms, Swap Toriel would be the cool mom.

Voice Description: Undyne is a warrior, she is strong, loyal, and never gives up. I imagine her voice to be in the mid range with a bit of roughness to it.
[friendly challenging, competitive] NGAAHAHAHAHAHA!! My team will win this time!! We've been training everyday to defeat you punks!
Voice Description: Alphys is the royal scientist of the underground. She's a total weeb who loves anime and fanfiction, she'd be the kind of person to suggest a popular anime to you and state her opinions on it. Her voice is usually interpreted as a pretty standard nerd girl voice.
Her Fell variant is that of a mad scientist, she'd sound more antagonistic and sinister and like she'd be prone to villain monologues.
Her Swap variant has Undyne's mannerisms, her voice wouldn't really sound so nerdy at all, more clear and commanding to represent her status as leader of the royal guard.
