In 2007, there was an idea posted on the Court Records Ace Attorney Fan Forum.
Turnabout Musical is a fan-made musical based on Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. It follows the story of the first game.
This project was a massive undertaking and involved many dedicated and talented fans to create the original show for the web format. With a total of no less than nineteen songwriters.

How Will We Make a Virtual Musical Come to Life?
Rehearsals: We will have rehearsals about four to five times a week.
Blocking and Choreography: Even though you are restricted to a small screen, you are still required to move around and interact with props! Make sure you have a clear space to do all of that! All characters will dance at some point, whether it be choreographed or improved.
Costumes and Set Pieces: All characters will have props either provided by staff or in-home supplies. Costume pieces will be provided by staff UNLESS cast member either has the costume pieces, or declines and buys their own costume pieces.
How Long Will We Rehearse?
The schedule is made to fit not only the director's schedule, but the cast's schedule as well. Depending on your role, you may be expected to attend a rehearsal two times a week, to five times a week.
We expect rehearsals to run until June/July, however, they may run into August/September. Once rehearsals are finished and you get an okay from the director, you will start recording your lines and songs.
What Happens After Auditions? Callbacks?
1. Once auditions have taken place, and if callbacks are needed, you will be invited to the show's discord server.
2. Once in the Discord server, you will be asked to verify information for the show.
3. Our first read (as stated above) will take place on February 16th at 1pm EST! Make sure you write this down because if cast, you MUST attend this rehearsal.
4. After the first read, we will be utilizing the website "Doodle," to make weekly schedules.
5. Off-Book dates and other events will be posted in the server.

Age Policy
Due to the nature of Turnabout Musical, we are dropping the age restriction from 18 years or older to 16 years or older. However, the younger cast will only be used to play the younger characters unless otherwise specified. Please do not lie about your age. If this occurs, we will restrict you from this project, and it may result in a ban from other projects. If needed, we will be checking ID's.
Costuming
If you have been given a costume by the director, it is your responsibility to make sure the costume does not get damaged in any way. All costumes given by the director must be returned clean and undamaged. If for some reason, the costume is damaged by you, or anything under your control, it is your responsibility to fix and/or replace the costume. Costume or costume pieces that are not on the directors list must be approved by the staff prior to buying.
NDA Policy
This show will NOT fall under an NDA. However we ask that you do not talk about the production or its progress beyond immediate family until the end of the production. If it is revealed that you have leaked script, song, or any portion of the production prior to the official release, you will immediately be dismissed.
Payment Plan
The payments under all characters are not finalized and are still up for debate. If you do not agree with the current payment plan, or will not agree to play the role if the payment plan must go down, do not audition. We are a small theatre business and do NOT have many funds. All payments going towards cast and staff will be out of the director's pocket.
No-Show Policy
Our virtual theatre has a policy for no-shows (aka you don't show up to a rehearsal)
We get it! Life throws things at us sometimes, and we aren't prepared for them. This may make you miss a few rehearsals, which is understandable.
At the time of auditions, cast members MUST inform the director of ALL known conflicts that overlap the rehearsal period. Thereafter the actor must not add any additional conflicts, (except in the case of emergency or serious illness), without the expressed permission of the director.
In the server for the musical, there is an announcement board that only the staff can access. Every time there is a doodle sheet, rehearsal schedule, and rehearsal taking place, you will be notified with either an @/everyone or @/mention. It is your responsibility to make sure that you see these notifications. We are not responsible if you mute the server and/or never look at the notifications.
Here are some ways one might become a "no-show" under our policy.
1. You miss a rehearsal without letting the director(s) know
2. You let the director(s) know you will make it, and do not show up.
3. We are given excuses such as "I wasn't told," or "I just didn't want to."
4.You continuously do not fill out the Doodle sheet.
If you fall into any of the no-show examples above five times we have the right to recast your role, or give the role to your understudy. You may be given the option to stay in the ensemble if we have room.
Other Policies Regarding Cast Removal
We have a 3 strike policy in place. If you receive a strike from any staff member, you may speak with a director to receive further clarifications. If you disagree, you may submit an appeal to the director(s). If you lash out or act in an unsightly manner upon receiving a strike, you may receive an additional strike immediately. There are instances where you have violated our trust, and may immediately be dismissed with no strikes (i.e. Causing drama or slandering any member of the production).
