Troubles, My Dear: Student Short Animated Film - Extra Casting
Project Overview
"Troubles, My Dear" is a fun collaborative project about a family of 6, and how they united through the troubles of their individual childhoods to create a loving and warm family. It explores their current day, as well as their difficult pasts and the events that lead them all to the uniting of their quite packed adoptive family.
Right now, I'm looking for a few more people for a short film project for my final VCE Media production. The film is a comedy-mystery based around Mango, one of the main characters, as they begin to wonder exactly where they came from, and brainstorm the possibilities with their siblings. They imagine the most wackiest things; from being a child of a pistachio and a poison ivy, to the wild west, to them being a literal God, and are just thinking up all these scenarios that just don't make sense. At the end of the film, it will hint at where they really came from to leave the audience guessing!
I'm looking for people who are willing to voice act Ghost and The Narrator for this film. Ghost is a lead role, and will be permanent, but The Narrator may or may not be a temporary role. We aren't sure yet, but if you're hoping to audition, keep in mind that you may be asked to stick around or come back!
CONTENT WARNING
If you intend to stay after this production, you must be aware of the triggering topics within TMD. None of the characters reference any of these things in this film, as my school strictly bans these topics. However, these topics will be brought up in the characters' pasts in future productions.
Sensitive topics include: blood, cartoon violence, themes of abuse, implied drug use, self harm, themes of suicide, implied grooming
If any of these topics are triggering, or are too much to handle, please add a comment to your audition if you don't wish to return after this production. I prefer your health and safety over anything!
Due to these topics, we request that the people auditioning must be 15-16+ years of age!

The due date for this is creeping closer, and we're still on the lookout for VAs for both characters! (mostly Ghost though)

The narrator voice we're looking for is similar to the British kids show narrators that interact with the characters as well. A good example of this would be something like "Sarah and Duck". Doesn't have to be exact, but something along those lines would be great!

Bio:
Ghost is quite a mysterious creature... quite quiet, doesn't do much, very ominous. She's very sweet in actuality, but looks quite creepy on the outside. She likes to run off on her own, no permission, no supervision, but always ends up perfectly fine, returning or being found a few hours later doing something innocent, like playing a game, drawing, etc. She's very friendly with family, but isn't too good being sociable. In the end, she's just a kid, doing her own kid-like things. But in her void-like eyes lies some mysterious secrets nobody knows about. Perhaps one day those empty eyes will tell us something...
