Toward Dawn - Indie RPG
Project Overview
https://deviserene.itch.io/toward-dawn
Toward Dawn is a indie JRPG, inspired by Welsh mythology, made by one person. After her temple is raided, Carys finds herself at the mercy of Bleddyn, a Gwyllgi, feared by society for their wolven qualities. But Carys finds that their differences only bring them closer - inspiring them both to seek answers to the events that led both their lives down a dark path.
This is a casting call for the first chapter of the demo, with more work likely to follow afterwards. All roles are in English, though most are preferred with a Welsh accent, and the dialogue does contain a few Welsh nouns. All voice actors will be credited in the game, as well as on the webpage and any character promotional materials.
If given the role, you will get a spreadsheet containing the list of lines in the scene, with your character highlighted, and context given for the line. If you would then be able to submit a .wav file containing all of the lines, I will then be able to edit it into the game.
This is a small game, created by one woman, but I hope that you will also enjoy bringing some Welsh mythology to life with me!

Female lead. Welsh accent. Early 20s. She is kind, caring and has a humorous side to her.
Carys is the main character of the game. The voice will be for the first chapter of the game, with potential for additional work in the future. As the point of view character, she will end up having the most amount of lines in the game.
Backstory:
Carys is a priestess from the Temple of Two Dragons. The temple holds the original faith of the people of Draibryn, barely tolerated by the Church. She was originally a citizen of Owain’s castle town, where her father joined the rebellion, but was ultimately killed. Her mother, a servant, found it incredibly hard to feed the family in the aftermath, and ended up dying in the pestilence that scourged the land. Carys was then adopted by the temple.
The temple is raided by what appears to be bandits. Carys is in the storeroom with a friend when the attack occurs, and is able to hide, witnessing her friend be murdered. She is able to escape with two other priestesses, but they are chased by a Bloodhound. The two other priests are killed, but are able to bestow a white jewel amulet to Carys. She is saved by Bleddyn, a Gwyllgi, and elects to stay in the forest with him.
She deals with her trauma by suppressing her thoughts. When she was adopted by the church, she resolved to forget her previous life. She regrets now that she cannot even remember the face of the mother who gave up her life for her child. Her regret and sorrow pushes her to continue to repress, even though she has nightmares of the event most nights. With Bleddyn and the forest, she hopes to continue to do the same, not wanting to return to society.

The Gwyllgi is right. I cannot just leave you here.
Llanllwch... After everything that has happened, do I really want to return there?
Bleddyn... I am glad that you're here. You saved my life.
