Tokyo Ghoul MangaDub- Additional Actors Needed
Project Overview
Hi, thanks for checking out my casting call. I'm putting together an Audio book or a Mangadub of the Tokyo Ghoul Manga. We'll start with the original series but once we get to :re, I'll make another casting call for additional actors. You may notice that there are only a few roles available here. That's because once I hear your voice I can find what character would be the best fit for you, since there are just too many characters to feasibly put on this site here. There's also a need for video and sound editors, foley, as well as musicians, sound designers, and Photoshop experts. I'm excited to work with you all.
Notes:
You may submit multiple auditions until the deadline arrives.
You may audition for multiple roles if you use different voices.
This is unfortunately not a paid casting call.
Feel free to state your favorite character that you'd like to play and also throw a little improv in there if you're feeling up to it.

Hi, I need some people willing and able to handle photo-shopping the images from the manga. It's fairly simple stuff, just removing the words from the panels. There are plenty of easy parts and some more challenging things. Let me know if you're interested!

Hi, there are a lot of sound effects that many people don't notice, but they go a LONG way to making any project so much better. If you are able to find or make very nice sound effects that fit the scene, let me know!

Hi, I need a musician to take the videos to another level. Music is probably the best way to crank up the value of any work. Let me know if you're able to make some awesome atmospheric music for this, and maybe tell me about any previous experience you have. Thanks!

The old man voice. Plain and simple. There are a few of these sorts of characters. Be sure to prioritize a consistent voice over emotion, but if you'd like to you can add any flavor you'd like to these lines.
"He looks like a ghoul to me. (mildly threatening) Giving aid to our fellow ghouls is our policy, is it not, Touka? "
"Touka. I wonder, do you know the news about the organ transplant incident that happened recently?"
"Brewing coffee is much like dealing with people. It simply can't be rushed."
A quiet, pacifistic, ghoul investigator. He's the best at killing ghouls but he hates it. He holds his position so that one day, a powerful ghoul can kill him and eventually lead the world to peace.
"645 times. 645 times I could have fatally wounded you. 645. 645 times I decided not to."
"Defeat, huh... Eighteen years. Eighteen years have I been an investigator. And yet this is the first time I am faced with an opponent against whom I have no course of action."
"I... I've... always... hated it. I hated myself, who only ever stole from others... I was finally... able to give something..."
Naki is a very emotional character. He has bags under his eyes from crying. He visits the graves of all of his fallen friends every night to mourn them. He's quite stupid, not knowing basic concepts like left versus right or spelling, but he's a great character nonetheless. Think like a soap opera for most of his lines.
(very dramatic) "There's so many memories welling up in me. I can't fight... the tears won't stop."
(very cool) "If I'm gonna die, it'll be in a way that I can brag about to big bro on the other side."
This character is special because he has no lips. A ghoul ate his face. Pretty messed up, but how would he sound? That's entirely up to you to decide, and I'm excited to hear what you come up with.
"Hell? There's no place like that for ghouls."
"So then. Do you have anything more to say, investigator?"
They have a fairly large part in the earlier moments of the story as they are some of the leaders of a ghoul organization under Tatara. They're fairly young and they ave fun while being pretty cruel and evil people.
"Are you ready, brother?"
"Impressive, they're holding they're own pretty well."
"Aogiri tree is my home." (Ah-oh-gee-re)
They are side characters who are very large, dumb, and strong. They're the bodyguards of Naki.
"You got it, boss."
*Grunting*
*battlecries*
Hairu is a very capable ghoul investigator who was promoted very young. She's a meek person usually, but when she's fighting, she becomes much more aggressive and brutal. She's really happy that the Qs squad are the same age as her so she'll have some friends.
"Begin the annihilation."
"Oh, you don't have to address me so formally. Let's just be friends."
A middle-aged scientist and ghoul fanatic who wants to see ghouls and humans live together peacefully. His voice should reflect his age and have a slight hint of arrogance or realistic craziness.
"Ghouls. They're tongues are built differently from ours. Any food that they try to eat, they'll be overwhelmed by an urge to vomit it."
(condescendingly) "You know nothing, simple reporter."
"Ghouls. They interest me. I want to help them."
A cranky old cop who always has correct hunches. Even with his anger issues, he's a very competent character who solves many of the series' mysteries on his own.
"What is he doing?! does he know the- is that my motorcycle?"
"We don't have time for this, we're under attack you moron!"
"Hah. I have my resources."
Banjou is a very weak ghoul who tried to be a leader of his own, but it didn't work out. He follows Kaneki as his friend and adviser, and later he becomes very useful as the only ghoul capable of healing others. His voice should be strong or deep while remaining a softness to it.
"I'm fine. So stop blaming yourself. Before you can save anyone else, you have to be saved."
"Here, maybe this will help."
"If your Kagune start to fail, call for me!" (Kah-goo-nay)
This character is fairly quiet, but has a strong presence. He's a bit older and used to be a lot more violent and crazy in his younger days, but now he just wants to live peacefully and protect is niece.
"I think I see what Yoshimura sees in you. I also want to see what you'll become."
"Calm down. Eat."
"Uta, what is the meaning of this?!"
A very large, strong, angry German man who really doesn't like ghouls and references Darwinism a lot. Very loud, very strong voice.
"Higher Mind!"
"We Homo-sapiens could never lose to you lowly apes!"
"HYYYYAAAAA"
I know the character wears a mask but please do not do a bane voice. This character is a gruff villain with strong morals leading an army of other ghouls. He's a fairly minor part but he'd still be a lot of fun to voice.

Fututa is the villain of the series in the later parts, and he needs a great, distinct, weaselly voice to match the character.
