TINNED - A WW1 Comedy
Project Overview
Maurice, a photographer, is tasked with documenting WWI as it happens through a propagandized lens. With the ability to see ghosts of the dead through his camera, Maurice must console their souls to while keeping his own sanity at bay.
TINNED is a dark comedy film in which Maurice complains about rations, causing a nosey ghost to tempt him in thieving from a barn for better food.

Maurice is a French WW1 photojournalist at a crossroads between forced propaganda photography and desire to portray the reality of war. His camera allows his to see and communicate with the ghosts of deceased soldiers. He is gullible and skittish with a bit of a pathetic cower; the poster and lead "doughboy".
Maurice is in No Man's Land surrounded by death, this role involves a lot of panicked screaming/noises and with an emphasis on COMEDIC delivery!

[PANICKED SCREAMING]
Pierre is the ghost of a hardened veteran from the start of WW1 who refuses to be at peace until the war ends. He serves as Maurice's mentor and voice of reason; stubborn and uppity regarding his opinions and values. Despite this, he is often the one PUTTING Maurice in dangerous situations to "toughen him up".
Pierre tends to egg Maurice into stupid situations or solutions that benefit to teach Maurice about the perils of war, this is meant to be a COMEDIC role! A mix between a French and Transatlantic accent preferred, but not necessary.

Monotone and flat, this ghost stays as the scars of war ravage on this body and his psyche. His mouth acts through an open stomach, having died from food poisoning and he wants nothing more than one final meal before returning to the earth.
TINNED's ghosts are used to teach Maurice about the soldiers who came before him and the sacrifices they've made to win the war (however silly or mundane), this is meant to be a COMEDIC role!
A monotonous, and witty voice would be perfect to contrast the lively personality of the other characters within the overall absurdity of their situation. Think like a moody teenager!
