Project Overview
Hi! This is the producer for SYNTXE, an audio drama anthology podcast.
Tidings of Dread is SYNTXE's eighth (December/Christmas special) episode in our anthology. The story follows a Christmas hater as he navigates his day on Christmas.

I’m fairly flexible with deadlines, but generally I’d like to have lines by two weeks of casting (the quicker, the better!). If you don’t think you can meet this deadline, please don’t audition. Recording will be done remotely and asynchronously.
REQUIREMENTS
Must be 13+ to audition
Please be sure your recording doesn’t have any background noise. Good quality mic is recommended.
Must have discord to communicate (or be willing to create an account)
Please include your discord username in your audition.
When auditioning, please READ ALL THREE LINES.
Please feel free to audition for multiple roles (I’d highly encourage so since most have very minimal lines!)
Unfortunately at this time we cannot provide monetary compensation, but IMDB credit will be given!

Male, late 20s. An agitated Christmas/Santa hater due to past negative experiences. Believes that Santa only creates hopeless doubt in kids’ lives. He can be very passionate and aggressive towards this topic. Has a criminal history.
Must be able to do two different voices: narration/voiceover and in-scene voice. Cole’s lines will go back and forth between the two, so if you could differentiate your interpretation of both voices that would be great.

(narrating/VO) I wonder if he has any idea the seed of doubt he has created. Promising them whatever they want, as long as they are good. What happens when those kids don’t get what they want? The spiral they will go through? Were they not good enough? Does Father Christmas not love them? Is everything a lie? Despicable.
(pissed; in response to Santa trying to sell/market their product to a kid) Seriously? You’re trying to sell him a glitter ball? He’s grieving!
(frustrated and pissed with strangers looking at him) What are you looking at? Merry fucking Christmas!
20-30s young but sounds older. Sitting at a mall to greet the kids and pose for pictures. Very cheerful and enthusiastic personality. Embodies the Christmas spirit 24/7.

Kid who comes up to the Mall Santa. Is a hopeful kid that’s been through a lot, including the loss of his father. Very soft spoken, genuine, and polite.

(reporting) In breaking news, a local mall Santa was attacked earlier this morning. The victim chose not to press charges at the time of the incident, but we’ve just learned that he collapsed shortly after leaving the police station and has since died from injuries that were initially unknown. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.
A group of enthusiastic kids (around 3-6) yell out this one line as they pose for a picture. Planning to compile a couple auditions for this.
