Project Overview
“Then there were One” is a machinima featuring several distinct guests who are all invited to a remote mansion called Dastard Manor. When the guests arrive by coach, they’re unable to find their inviter, and inclement weather causes faults in telephone lines. Matters are made worse when the guests attempt to leave but the coach breaks down, leaving the strangers isolated and trapped in the manor house.
The guest list begins to shorten as people mysteriously go missing, and a rather witty detective must piece together a makeshift investigation into the cause. Everybody’s first thought? Someone else must be on the island."

Jacob Bailey is an entrepreneur from the distant city of Stilton. Owning several stock companies and a large construction firm, Jacob is more than experienced with fat-cat living and top-down hierarchies. He speaks with an upper-class English accent that imposes his education onto others in a dominant way. Jacob is 38 years old.
"Absurdity. I will not conform to this outdated system!"
"I'd imagine an established bachelor, from the sheer size of the building."

Randy Tate is a patriotic gun enthusiast who enjoys hunting game whenever he’s not tending to his farm/ranch. At age 26, Randy is married to Lindsey-Sue Tate, his childhood sweetheart. Randy has a deep-south accent and isn’t best known for his intelligence, which falls below average. The Farmer is fairly wealthy, which causes his subtle arrogance and blunt candour.
Randy attends the event armed with a handgun.
"Well I'll be damned, would you look at that?"
"Lindsey-Sue and I 'been happily married for 5 years!"
"I said Boy! Is that what you call a handgun?" *laughs*
Arthur Weiss is a detective inspector from a distant city. Esteemed in his craft, this German logician has a history of outsmarting criminal kingpins and is defensive of his established reputation. Arthur is innately suspicious of others upon first meeting them, and is very careful about what he reveals and what he does not.
Arthur carries around a notepad which he uses as a mobile phone, with him at every moment.
"Sorry, was it something I said?"
"They always try, and they always fail."
"And what excludes you from the blame Mr Tate? From where I'm sitting we are equals now."
French doctor Jean cross is a surgeon from the distant city of Stilton. Originally from Bourges, France, Dr Cross is experienced in her field, and a pioneer of a specific key-hole surgery practice called “osthesis”. Jean Cross is somewhat aloof and withdrawn, and has a very low level of empathy for people struggling, contrary to her medical position.
Dr Cross is an introverted narcissist who seeks solely the progression and development of herself, stepping on anyone in her path with her vigorous intellect and wit.

Paul Jones is a Scotish ex-mechanic turned car salesman who buys written-off cars and repairs them at minimal cost and sells them on to people who are less aware of the handy-work that goes into maintaining a motor vehicle. Quite a sly character, in it for himself.
"Aye, that'll do."
"This reminds me of an old ford' came into me workshop one day. Rather fucked it was."
"I'd be a wee careful what you say to me, geez."
Anita Williams is a primary school teacher from the nearby town of Granchester. At age 27, she is a divorced mother of two young children. Anita is a kind soul with a fondness for children and learning.
"My goodness! What's going on!" (scared)
"He's innocent! It simply can't be him! It can't be!"
"Oh gosh no! This nightmare will never end!"
Chris/Jane Mitchell is an extremely brash kleptomaniac who has a long-standing issue with alcohol abuse. Unable to hold down any form of relationships, Chris/Jane is still single at 26 years old. The somewhat lonely hairdresser works in Granchester and lives in an attic room due to spending most of his/her income on booze.
"Bloody hell, whoever lives here's fucking minted!"
"So, you think he's the killer, he thinks you're the killer, and everybody else is running around like headless chickens!"
"This Weiss (pronounce as W, NOT V) character is pretty fucking arrogant ent he."
Vince mills is a young chef with a passion for food. Mills is 20 years old and works at “the Wheat Sheaf” riverside restaurant in Granchester. Vince is a good man who frequently donates to dog rescue kennels.
"But that doesn't make any sense! Something wrong."
"The kettle was still warm when we arrived."
"So you're gonna accuse me of murder because he died by a kitchen knife?! Fuck off!"
Vicar Richard Stone is at the forefront of religious authority in the area surrounding Granchester, Stilton and Penthorpe. A clergyman of the Church of England, Richard Stone considers himself of high morality and will. Age 35.
"Now all we can do is pray, that God might spare us this melancholy."
"Lord above!"
"If you'll join me in the Lord's prayer, we have lost a dear soul today."
