Theater Of The Unthinkable (Video Series) 🎦

Project Overview

This project I’m working on is an original Youtube series I thought of. It is an anthology series meaning that each video/episode don’t connect with one another and take place in their own world of sorts with a new set of characters each time. It’s the same sort of idea as something like The Twilight Zone or Black Mirror.


The format is that each video consists of one new horror themed story read out by a narrator or host. Each host represents a certain style of horror and will read out stories relating to that style. For example a more deep, rough and serious sounding narrator for the more mature and dark stories.


Currently I’m hoping to write a few original stories of my own mixed with submitted stories by other writers. And for visuals for the videos I’m hoping to also have a variety of artists illustrate the stories as I’m not the best artist. Not animations mind you, just stills of scenes from the story, as I don’t want to overwork anyone ^^


I would also just like to say that sadly this is not a paid job. If I could pay those who are chosen I honestly would if I could. And I'd also like to say that for now I'm hoping to make around 9 videos/episodes in total for now. If the series does well from there I'll make more. The narrators can reprise their roles if they wish to.


Lastly It's also recommend that you have a Gmail and a Discord so I can contact you easier and you can send your work more easily to me.

  • Narrators have been casted!

    Greetings everyone. I'm happy to announce that the three new current narrators have now been cast! Narrator #1 is going to be voiced by Jonostrander Narrator #2 is going to be voiced by oppletron And Narrator #3 is going to be voiced by SMc Congratulations to you three, I'm happy to be working with you all! And to those who sadly weren't cast I wish you luck in your future endeavours. There may be opportunities to audition again later down the line though. Anyways hopefully tomorrow or some point this week we can start working on the first video. And lastly writers and artists auditions will still be open as there is no definitive writer or artist for the series technically. However I will still be working with those with good auditions. So once again, congrats to the new voice actors I've selected, good luck to those who didn't quite make it.

    For starters I would just like to say thank you for all the auditions that have been sent! I really enjoyed listening to each of them and I really think each of you has a chance of being cast. But I'm currently deciding on the final cast for now that I'll be announcing tomorrow. However auditions are closed so I'll be taking no more. And lastly if you are selected I am hoping to use Discord to communicate with the chosen voice actors and writers so if you haven't gotten it installed I recommend you do. That's all for this update. A deep calm kind of voice, quite suave and sophisticated in a way. Can sound more sympathetic than the other narrators. A Rod Serling like host who mainly narrates the more tragic and existential stories.

  • 4 year old Bethany Puckett, a peculiar case of what happens when the naivety of a child are at their highest and of most concern. Most children have an innate understanding that some adults can have more wicked desires than those they are close to. But not Bethany, it always seemed like she was more interested in complete strangers than her own family. To everyone including her own family the reason was unknown, was it because of her own innocence or curiousity? We’ll soon find out in this feature and see the result of one child and who is all too trusting.

A slightly high pitched voice, more eccentric and mischievous sounding, almost hyperactive but not too over the top. Has a dark sense of humour and has a habit of making puns related to moments in the story and rarely takes things seriously. A Crypt Keeper type of host who's sort of like a parody of the genre and reads the more comedic, outlandish and weird stories

  •  "Arguably one of the worst places you can be attacked and are most vulnerable is in the bathroom. After all the the idea of some creature attacking you on toilet must be one pain in the ass (laughs). Or even worse and in this story's case, imagine one creature hiding in the drains of your shower or sink. Now that's something if you ever were to see it would really drain the life out of you (laughs). Anyways let's take a look at this feature together and see how this story truly goes down the drain (laughs)."

A very deep grim sort of voice, quite rough and grizzled sounding. Tends to get joy from parts were characters are suffering. Also has a dark sense of humour. Not really based on any particular host. Tends to read the darker, Lovecraftian/Poe style stories and the more gorier ones too

  • Fungus. Something that seems harmless as you wander aimlessly through the woods, seeing it patched on various trees and rocks on your path. But who’s to say it couldn’t become something more dangerous. Imagine a whole forest being covered in its growths, iits rotting tendrils wrapped around every branch and stone. Think of the horrors that could await if such a thing were to grow and decompose whatever it covers in its way. Those are the type of horrors you’ll be seeing in this feature as we see from a perspective of a man as they encounter such an event themselves.

In terms of art I'm looking for ones they have a more gothic or darker style to it. However I will take exceptions depending on the quality of the art. Your main role will be illustrating certain key segments of the story. The amount can depend on how many you're able to do with your skills and the length of the story. You can draw interpretation of the moment however you want although it does have to line up with the continuity of the segment

Note: I should also mention that your pictures don't need to be in colour, just leaving the image black and white is alright. And would honestly fit the horror theme more better.

I'm looking for horror, thriller, and science fiction writers for this series. However you aren't that limited in what you can do. If you want to do a horror comedy, a dark and serious take or something just completely out of the box then go for it! I should also say I don't mind which perspective you write in, although I would prefer 2nd and 3rd person. And lastly I'll only be accepting stories that are entirely original. It can be inspired by an already existing property, but I won't be using a story that for example uses someone like Jeff the killer or Slender Man in it.
