And welcome to the Casting call for the Cryptid Files YouTube documentary series, a project that I have been wanting to do for a hot minute that was heavily inspired by The Lost Files and River Monsters. Skeptics, believers, and those who just want to proudly represent their state or country on the topic are welcome to audition! Currently, I'm trying to do one cryptid from each state but I'm looking to expand globally in the future.
I'm looking for script writers, a thumbnail artist, and aspiring voice actors who are looking to have a good time and pad their resumes. As for VAs, I'm sorry I wish I could pay you all but currently I do not have the funds to do so. Nor is my channel monitized. If this changes in the future I do wish to compensate you all fairly for the work you put in.

Also known as the Wolf Woman of Davis Avenue, on April 1, 1971, The Wolf Woman of Mobile made her debut. Calls began to roll into the Press-Register from citizens in the Mobile, Alabama suburbs reporting that they had spotted a creature with the head of a beautiful woman and the body of a wolf roaming on all fours around Davis Avenue in Port City, as well as the Plateau neighborhood.
We lived around the corner from my grandmother growing up off the Parkway and would often have to walk to her house to borrow something. When the Wolf Woman emerged, I didn’t want to walk in the dark
Perhaps, given the timeframe, this was all just a prank from Mobile locals to give their neighbors a fright, possibly affixing a wig to a stray German Shepherd or releasing a particularly well-coiffed Afghan hound.

Most folks who picture a mermaid commonly think of the bright bubbly depiction pushed forth by Disney, but to the Inuit people a mermaid can spell doom for their children.
For centuries, elusive sightings of Qalupalik, a mysterious sea monster of Inuit legend, have been reported around the Arctic Ocean.
In Inuit mythology, like many creatures from folklore, Qualupalik serves a utilitarian purpose in the harsh environment of what is now Northern Alaska and Canada

The Mogollon Monster, also known as the Arizona Bigfoot, is an ape-like creature, similar to descriptions of Bigfoot, The Mogollon Monster is commonly described as a large bipedal creature, over 7 feet (2 m) tall with large, red eyes.
The majority of Mogollon Monster sightings are said to occur in the Ponderosa pine forests of the Mogollon Rim with reported sightings range along Arizona's Mogollon Rim, from Prescott north to Williams, southeast to Alpine, south to Clifton, and northwest back to Prescott.
Professor emeritus of biology, Stan Lindstedt, of Northern Arizona University, dismisses the idea that a large humanoid creature would remain hidden in such a large area of the country. "I put that in the category of mythology that can certainly make our culture interesting, but has nothing to do with science."

Although reported in the press as a "monster", it is reported to be deeply loved by neighborhood residents near this portion of the White River, and the monster is referred to locally as "Whitey".
The first officially recorded sighting however was in December of 1912, an Arkansas newspaper reported that timber workers floating rafts of cedar on the White River below Branson, Missouri, had seen something large and strange on the bottom.
It is worth noting that Bateman’s description was very similar to the one reported around the world four years earlier during the first major blast of coverage of Scotland’s Loch Ness Monster. It should also be noted that Newport and much of the White River Valley had been devastated by one of the worst floods in Arkansas history earlier in 1937.

The world of cryptids, terrifying beasts and mortifying specters. Shrugged off by skeptics due to the validity of eyewitness reports and the outlandish basis for mythology and folklore passed down through generations. Perhaps one of the most overlooked due to colonizers prejudice is the folk legends of Native Americans.
The Santee Dakota legend told of how the Thunder Horse was a creature from “away back in time” but had disappeared from the open plains around their camps before their arrival. But instead of simply disappearing and never coming back, the Thunder Horse moved up into the heavens where it would occasionally reappear on earth to hunt the bison that occupied the dry plains.
American paleontologist, Professor Othniel Charles Marsh traveled to the Badlands area of South Dakota and began asking about the legendary beast, he was presented with an incredibly large jawbone from a tribe member by the name of Young Man Afraid Of His Horses.
