Project Overview
The Story Of Felix is a 2D animated film about a kiwi. It is family-friendly and will appeal to both kids and adults.
STORY
A long-forgotten curse has been quietly re-awakened and threatens to destroy the forest and its inhabitants. Felix, a young kiwi, has been chosen by the mysterious Cyrus to retrieve the Holy Orb - the only thing that can stop the curse. Felix will meet many interesting characters and face many hardships on his journey, all while he tries to figure out why he was chosen to undertake this quest.
Because the film is set in New Zealand most characters will have a kiwi accent. So this is a great opportunity for someone from NZ!
Largely open to all skill levels. So long as your mic is somewhat good... then go for it!
The payment for each role is negotiable btw. Most characters don't have many words but we can discuss pay if needed.

Felix is the main character of the film. He lives a quiet life in the forest with his friends and his Grandad. Felix has a timid nature and can often get overwhelmed. Despite this, he tries his best to keep optimistic.
VOICE NOTES
Nothing overly cartoony. Just a genuine, somewhat youthful voice. Maybe slightly high-pitched.

I can’t help but feel the curse might be real, and that it really is up to me to do something.
[scared] Please leave me alone!
[lamenting] And kiwis can’t even fly. That’s the whole point of a bird! Is to fly!
The mysterious heron who Felix meets one night. He has seen many things and is very wise.
VOICE NOTES
He is calm, yet speaks with authority. He should have a somewhat smooth voice, nothing too deep-sounding or ‘old-man’.

The villain of the story. He is a pretty eccentric individual, and loves to see bad things unfold.

[smug] Cyrus chose a pathetic, weak little *kiwi* to stop me? The fool’s gone mad!

Stop that, you moronic, half-witted imbeciles!
One of Gamalgous’ henchmen. He was a normal bird who was captured and turned into a goon, but in the film we see him in both his bird form and goon form.
VOICE NOTES
When he’s a goon, think cartoonish robot voice. Something sorta silly. For his normal bird voice, just do some regular voice. Mostly open to interpretation.

Same story as Goon #1. A regular bird turned evil.

Jade is the Chief of the Kereru Tribe. He has strength beyond what most are capable of, but will only use it if he must. He is very wise.

My name is Jade, Chief of the Kereru Tribe. My men are some of the most powerful fighters in the land, continuing the legacy of our mighty ancestors.
Move quickly, young traveler. Once you reach the top, the Great Hall won’t be far.
The legend goes that many, many centuries ago, the Holy Orb sat proudly on its pillar in the forest, keeping the land free of danger.
A member of the Kereru Tribe. He is cocky and likes to show off. Moses will claim that he is the toughest member of the tribe!

Also a part of the Kereru Tribe, Jerome thinks he’s pretty tough himself. He knows how to push Moses’ buttons, and finds joy in making him mad.

The final member of the Kereru Tribe. Quieter than Moses and Jerome, but still tough.

Pardon me for not introducing myself before. I’m Catherine. But I’ll let you call me Cathy!
[lamenting] My beloved husband, Martin! He was one of the smartest birds in all the land.
[skeptical] I must admit, I find it strange that a kiwi like you was chosen to get this fancy “Orb” from the Great Hall.
Martin is sort of the opposite of Catherine. He is jaded and cynical, but he will still help out someone in need.

His cynical nature is evident when he speaks. He has a certain carelessness. Maybe he sounds a little bit raspy.

One of Felix’s friends. He’s fairly confident, and is just a pretty friendly guy.

Not much is known about this strange lil guy. But he sure does show up in some odd places.
