The Starborn Collective (Emergency Casting)
Project Overview
What is The Starborn Collective?
The Starborn Collective is a collection of three audio dramas - Two initial ones, titled Infested and Subliminals, and then Starborn, a sequel that voice actors from this wave will also be involved in. It will be produced by me, amidst a team of assistants who will be helping to produce it. It is a project that has been in development for several years but has now found its footing enough to begin the early stages of production.
Requirements:
Everyone on this team is relatively new and inexperienced, so we try to hold ourselves to the same standard that we hold any auditioning voice actors. You do not need to have a professional setup, however having a microphone that can record in good quality and having access to Discord is key to being able to partake in this project. A link to the public Discord server we have created can be found later in this description.
Payment:
Unfortunately, this project is pay-free for the foreseeable future. This is a passion project at the moment that we hope to gain traction on in the future, but it is not currently in our budget to provide payment as we are all young and aspiring creators. Of course, this is subject to change in the distant future if all goes well but is a consideration for the distant future.
Role Significance:
Some voice actors will have to fulfil greater expectations than others depending on the importance of the character that they voice. For example, being in a leading role for this project means that you will likely be interacting with myself and the other producers frequently, so it is good not to have an aversion to social interaction and becoming acquainted with us as a staff team and a community.
RELATIONSHIPS:
Most characters in this show are LGBTQ+ and end up in relationships that are also LGBTQ+. If you aren’t comfortable with portraying that, it’s best not to audition! Thank you!

Main protagonist. Aster Stiles is a rather reserved man, having preferred books over people since he was young. He’s very knowledgeable on a variety of sciences, and won’t hesitate to get a bit stern with you if need be. He’s a very reserved person, but once you get to know him, he’s prone to making the occasional wry joke and sarcastic comment (always somehow perfectly timed). Please note that he’s got a tendency to talk a lot! If you audition, be sure you’re ready for long lines for Aster. Aster's voice is very calm and deadpan, but not without emotion. We want him to sound alive, not robotic! Think akin to the English voice actor of Dan Heng in Honkai: Star Rail.

Side Character. Wesley Smith is a bright individual, who cares a bit too much about too many things. He’s very compassionate and kind-hearted, and would do anything for his family and friends. He’s always able to brighten up the room, and manages to make anyone crack even a little smile. He’s one of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet, and almost everyone who’s spoken to him would agree. He’s a fantastic listener, too– he doesn’t like to talk that much, but he’ll always hear what you have to say. Wesley’s got a lot of inspiration taken from the fandom’s interpretation of Stanley (The Stanley Parable).
