Looking for: Singers
Description: The goal of this project is to translate and perform the songs of the Netflix Korean musical drama The Sound of Magic into English, while maintaining the original songs' musicality as much as possible. Why? I'm not really sure. Maybe because it bugged me that they dubbed the speaking and not the singing in the show (though I watch with subs anyways), or maybe because I want to listen while driving and have more than a general feel of what they are singing about. Either way, I want to make this happen.
Time frame: The project will close casting on October 31st. There will be one month (November) from that point to record your songs. Then I'll spend December mixing, and hopefully get it done by the new year.
General Requirements: Have a good recording setup. It doesn't have to be stellar, but your voice should be clear and crisp with minimal static/noise/echo/muffle. I'm sorry, I can only clean things up so much with Audacity. You should be able to get me your singing in .wav format. I'll need some way to communicate with you if you're selected. Discord is the best bet, but I'm open to other methods if need be. Prior knowledge of The Sound of Magic is good, but not required by any means.
Pay: For the lead roles, I will pay 10 dollars a song where you have a good number of solo lines (basically whenever you stand out). For the smaller roles and chorus parts, I will pay 5 dollars a song.
Lead or Chorus?: Don't be discouraged if you audition for a lead role and don't get selected. I will take several of those I like from the auditions but that I didn't pick and offer you roles in the chorus/smaller roles. I don't have a set number that I'll take yet, but likely somewhere in the range of 5-10 people.
Other information: Yes, the actual writing of the translations is already done. I might still tweak them here or there, though. I do have sheet music coming this time, for those of you who would prefer to read it than learn it by ear. Going by ear is fine though. I likely won't be disseminating this anywhere, because copyright is scary.

This is all the backup singers, plus the pool I'll pull from if one of the people selected for a named role has something come up and has to drop out. NOTE: Applying for this position means you are willing to do extra work, and even if you're cast as one of the supporting roles (not lead), you can apply for this too and get an extra 5 dollars apiece for any songs where you aren't already getting paid and that need chorus (it'll be 5-15 dollars depending on who you are).
