The Ones Who Never Left (FNAF Fan Project) — Main Cast Voice Casting + Additional Voices
Project Overview
The Ones Who Never Left is an atmospheric, character‑driven psychological Five Nights at Freddy's fan project centered around grief, manipulation, and the presence of an original entity known as Thanatos. The series blends grounded emotional storytelling with subtle horror, focusing heavily on tone, realism, and internal conflict rather than on jump scares or exaggerated performances. Voice actors cast at this stage will help define the project's core identity and will (hopefully) continue into full production.
Note: Not all roles will be needed immediately. We’re developing several proof‑of‑concept clips to establish tone and animation style, and each character will get their moment during this phase. We appreciate your patience as we give everyone a chance in the spotlight before moving into full episodes.

Michael Afton is one of the emotional anchors of The Ones Who Never Left and the lead protagonist. He’s the older brother of Evan Afton, carrying the weight of guilt, responsibility to remedy his past mistakes, and a childhood shaped by fear and fractured family dynamics. Michael’s voice should reflect someone who’s trying to stay composed while constantly fighting the urge to give in to his fear and anger.
Characteristics:
Late teens to early twenties
Calm exterior masking deep emotional strain
Unable to properly control/handle his emotions
Speaks with a grounded, realistic tone
Often sounds tired, stressed, or emotionally stretched
Has moments of sharpness or frustration, especially under pressure
Rare flashes of warmth toward Evan (his younger brother)
Vocal Notes:
Medium‑low to medium‑high male voice
Naturalistic delivery (no “cartoon” acting)
Slight rasp or fatigue is welcome but not required
Emotional range: quiet guilt → controlled anger → soft vulnerability
Should feel like a real person, not a caricature

"I know I failed you. I wasn’t the brother you needed. But I’ll end this… him… for both our sakes." Vowing to end his father before more people get hurt.
Evan Afton is the emotional heart of The Ones Who Never Left. He’s young, anxious, and deeply traumatized by the world around him — especially the animatronics and the fear they embody. Evan’s voice should capture vulnerability, fear, and innocence, as well as the quiet strength that emerges as his story unfolds.

Soft‑spoken, timid, easily frightened
Carries deep emotional wounds and anxiety
Sensitive, gentle, and empathetic
Often sounds like he’s on the verge of tears

"Michael...please don't leave me alone. Not with them!" Evan says this as Michael, his older brother, locks him in a back room with some spare animatronics.
"I didn't mean to! I swear I didn't mean to! Please don't hurt me!" Evan begging Michael not to hurt him after Evan accidentally angered him.
"I had another nightmare...It was about Mom and Dad."
Henry Emily in The Ones Who Never Left is not a hero. He is a man consumed by grief, guilt, and obsession — just like William, but expressed differently. Henry’s pain is outward, visible, and corrosive. He is intelligent, articulate, and controlled, but beneath that calm exterior is a man who has lost his moral center and is spiraling into dangerous fixation.
Characteristics:
Adult male (late 30s to mid‑40s)
Calm on the surface, but emotionally unstable underneath
Obsessed with the past and unable to let go
Grief has twisted him into someone cold, bitter, and unpredictable
Intelligent, articulate, and deliberate, but emotionally compromised
Often sounds hollow, haunted, or on the edge of breaking
Vocal Notes:
Medium‑low to low male voice
Heavy, worn tone with a cold edge
Emotional range: quiet grief → bitterness → controlled anger → obsessive resolve
Delivery should feel grounded but unsettling
Breathiness, vocal fatigue, or tension is welcome
Should sound like someone who believes he’s justified, even when he’s not

Clara Afton is the emotional backbone of the Afton family in The Ones Who Never Left. She is loving, perceptive, and strong‑willed — but her life with William has left her exhausted, conflicted, and quietly afraid. Clara is not a caricature or a melodramatic mother; she is a real woman trying to hold her family together while sensing something deeply wrong beneath the surface.
Her voice should reflect warmth strained by fear, love strained by frustration, and a growing awareness that her family is slipping away from her.
Characteristics:
Adult woman (late 20s to late 30s)
Warm, gentle, and empathetic, but increasingly stressed
Speaks with emotional honesty and realism
Carries quiet fear and suspicion regarding William
Protective of her children, especially Evan
Often sounds tired, worn, or emotionally stretched

Intelligent, perceptive, and emotionally grounded
Vocal Notes:

"Evan, sweetheart, look at me. You're safe. I promise."
"We all have our secrets. But I feel like I don't even know you anymore, William." Confronting her husband on the secrets he has been keeping.
"I tried. God, I tried so hard to keep this family together. But you just couldn't accept the hand you were dealt." Confronting William on his actions after figuring out what said actions are.
Mariene Emily in The Ones Who Never Left is not Clara. She is not a martyr, not a self‑sacrificing mother, and not someone who will destroy herself to keep a broken marriage alive. After losing her only child, Mariene has nothing left except Henry — and Henry’s obsession, grief, and volatility make even that unbearable.
Mariene’s voice should reflect a woman who is trying to survive her grief, not drown in it. She is warm, perceptive, and emotionally intelligent, but also exhausted, guarded, and increasingly unwilling to let Henry’s downward spiral consume her, too.
Characteristics:
Adult woman (late 20s to late 30s)
Warm and gentle, but emotionally guarded
Speaks softly, with careful emotional control
Prioritizes her own stability over Henry’s needs
Carries quiet fear and disappointment
Protective of herself because she has no one left to protect
Often sounds tired, worn, or emotionally drained
Has moments of sharpness when Henry’s behavior crosses a line
Perceptive, grounded, and quietly strong
Vocal Notes:
Medium‑range female voice
Warm tone with subtle fatigue
Emotional range: gentle → stressed → fearful → firm → quietly resolute
Delivery should feel natural, grounded, and human
Occasional trembling or breathiness is welcome
Should sound like a woman who is trying to hold onto herself while her marriage collapses
Is this role a lead? Yes. Mariene is a central role in Henry’s emotional arc and the family’s collapse.
