Evan Afton is the emotional heart of The Ones Who Never Left. He’s young, anxious, and deeply traumatized by the world around him — especially the animatronics and the fear they embody. Evan’s voice should capture vulnerability, fear, and innocence, as well as the quiet strength that emerges as his story unfolds.

Characteristics:

• Young boy (8–10 years old)

• Soft‑spoken, timid, easily frightened

• Carries deep emotional wounds and anxiety

• Sensitive, gentle, and empathetic

• Often sounds like he’s on the verge of tears

• Has moments of bravery despite overwhelming fear

• Speaks with hesitation, uncertainty, and emotional fragility

Vocal Notes:

• Childlike voice

• Soft, shaky delivery

• Emotional range: fear → panic → sadness → quiet courage

• Should feel real, not exaggerated or cartoony

• Occasional stutters or breath catches are welcome

• Must convey innocence and vulnerability

Is this role a lead? Yes. Evan is a lead role, central to the emotional core of the series and appearing throughout major story arcs.

Any basic recording setup is acceptable. Minimum requirements:

• A DAW (Audacity, Adobe Audition, Reaper, Logic, etc.)

• A decent microphone (USB or XLR; no phone mics)

• Ability to export clean WAV or MP3 files

• Basic noise reduction/cleanup capability

No special plugins required.
