Project Overview

The series is based off of Splatoon's Campaign mode and the storyline is inspired by Attack on Titan and Cobra Kai.

Aqua Bluebird, a cyan Inkling that recently moved into Inkopolis Plaza and the main protagonist of the whole series, was chosen to be the third person to join the New Squidbeak Splatoon, being codenamed "Agent 3." The whole history of Turf Wars was in his hands. Before he was chosen as Agent 3, he was a rookie at Turf Wars and he was inspired by his father to be the absolute best Turf War player in the world. Meeting a lot of people and making friends along the way as Agent 3, his personality develops into a serious and tough agent during his time in the New Squidbeak Splatoon.

There is a Discord server for the series and I'm hoping to see any voice actors or other helpers out there!  

However, if you don't have Discord, it is highly recommended to get the application, so you can join the server and communicate or collaborate with other voice actors or other helpers. When submitting an audition, please make sure to include your Discord tag as well so I can DM you if you get the role! The Discord server is below and you can join if you audition!

  • Deadline has been reached! (3/6 or 3/7)

    There has been incredible auditions for The Mortal Bluebird and I just want to thank each of you for auditioning! There are seven roles and 86 submissions were made as of now! I don't know if there's going to be other submissions after the deadline was reached since this is my first Casting Call on CCC but I will try to listen to all of them and I hope to cast the roles as soon as possible if there's going to be submissions right after the deadline! If you want any further updates that are not in the casting call, want to hang out with other people who are helping out with the series, or want to help out with other content, feel free to join the Discord server in the "About" section of this casting call! (I know. I'm not the best at making updates. :p)

  • New Roles and Discord Server (3/1/21)

    I almost forgot that this was a thing on Casting Call Club. There are now some new roles on the casting call other than Aqua Bluebird and Callie! The deadline is March 7, 2021, if you want to audition for any of the roles that are casted in here! The deadline date will also get extended if needed!   • Two Roles for now (2/24/21)

    The sneak peek is still being animated and characters are still being developed, so there will be only two roles: Aqua Bluebird and Callie (Turf War announcer).

Aqua Bluebird is the main protagonist of the whole series. He should sound like someone who is very new at doing certain things as he just moved into Inkopolis Plaza, which is one of the main settings in the series. More lines will be revealed if you get the role because later on, his personality will develop when he becomes Agent 3. 

These lines are said in his mind because he's writing in his diary. As the series goes on, his behavior will change from being a coward to a brave agent throughout the series.

For this character in the beginning of the series, he is open for having a range of of voices due to being a rookie and just starting his experience in Inkopolis Plaza!

  • Dear Diary,(Happy voice) Today is going to be an awesome day. I finally moved into Inkopolis, where a famous game called Turf Wars was invented.

  • My father was one of the best Turf War players in Inkopolis and I wanted to become more like him when I get older.

  • (Disappointed voice) When I moved here, it started really tough. It all started when I met a team of Turf War players bullying other rookie players that just joined into the ranks.

Callie is one of the members of the most popular idol group in Inkopolis, the Squid Sisters. She will be an important character later on in the series. In these lines, she's using her announcing voice with a lot of confidence.

Overall, Callie's personality is very cheerful and gets excited a lot. She values her friendship with her cousin, Marie, and the two were inseparable ever since they were young. She is fond of puns and uses them from time to time. Her voice should be around high range throughout the series but in a low range as Agent 1 of the New Squidbeak Splatoon.

For this character as a Squid Sister, she is open for having a range of of voices due to being cheerful and exciting!

Marie is one of the members of the most popular idol group in Inkopolis, the Squid Sisters. She will be an important character later on in the series. 

Overall, Marie is more chill and quiet than Callie. She is laid-back friendly but sometimes grumpy. She can be really lazy but as Agent 2 of the New Squidbeak Splatoon, she uses the opportunity to make the team proud by coming up with plans for the team. Her voice should be a little laid back as Marie in the Squid Sisters but more serious as Agent 2 of the New Squidbeak Splatoon.

For this line, she's saying this in her head as she looks up at the tower while Callie finished her announcement.

Captain Cuttlefish is an elderly Inkling and the leader of the New Squidbeak Splatoon. He is also the grandfather of the Squid Sisters, Callie and Marie. He also fought in the Great Turf Wars, a series of battles between the Inklings and the Octarians. After the war, he has been declaring himself as a war hero to the history of Inkopolis. Although the war is over, he keeps an eye out for suspicious behavior in Octo Valley, where the Octarians take place. After luring Aqua into a manhole in Inkopolis, he recruits him as Agent 3 of the New Squidbreak Splatoon.

He tries his best to make sure Inkopolis is safe from the Octarians but due to the recent events that led to the Great Zapfish being taken, he has to do everything he can from preventing another Great Turf War.

In Splatoon, he has a medium to high range voice in the dialogue, so for in the series, his voice is only going to be medium range!

Ace is the Leader of a 3-Player Turf War team called the Splat Brigade. As the leader of his team, it's his responsibility to make sure that his team is trying their best out there in Turf Wars. After Aqua Bluebird teamed up with his team in Aqua's first Turf War, he tries his best to help him experience Turf Wars like he did with Liz and Robby, who are two other Inklings who apart of the Splat Brigade.

In these lines, he starts to talk to Aqua after Callie announces the teams for Moray Towers. He can have any range of voices!

  • (Introduction voice) "Hi! I'm Ace! Pleased to meet you!"

  • "Oh, so you're new at Turf Wars, huh? (Deep voice) Just don't ruin our win streak or else..."

  • "(Laughing) I'm just joking dude! Just try your best out there. A lot of rookie players are being picked on lately, so you need to get better at Turf Wars to avoid that. You want that don't you?.... Good, now let's win your first Turf War, shall we?"

Liz is apart of a 3-Player Turf War team called the Splat Brigade. She's usually a competitive player when it comes to Turf Wars and she's the only Inkling on the team that uses a charger.  She also comes up with strategies for each Turf War that the team participates in. Liz is also an Inkling that trains outside of Turf Wars to prepare for any special events like Splatfests! Overall, Liz respects anyone that she sees and she will try her best to get her team win, get stronger, and make some new friends.

In these lines, she is very excited about her favorite map, Moray Towers, where Aqua's first Turf War takes place. She also starts to teach Aqua how to play Turf Wars before the game starts. She can have any range of voices! 

She will appear in the first episode of The Mortal Bluebird, not the sneak peek!

  • "(Happy voice) Woohoo! Moray Towers! My favorite map! You ready guys?... it's time to kick some squids!"

  • "The main objective for Turf Wars is that each team has to cover the map and the team with the highest percentage of turf coverage wins the round!"

Robby is apart of a 3-Player Turf War team called the Splat Brigade. Most of the time, he's usually seen as the "funny member" of the Splat Brigade. He's a loyal Inkling with a positive attitude and tries his best at Turf Wars just like Ace and Liz, who are also apart of the Splat Brigade. Other than his opposite, Liz, who trains a lot for Turf Wars, he's usually lazy and laid back but still helps his team come up with strategies for their team to win. Aqua's first encounter with Robby wasn't really great due to being a rookie at Turf Wars.

In these lines, he has a lazy voice and an annoyed voice. He can have any range of voices!

Fun fact: Robby's name is also a reference to a character in Cobra Kai!

  • (Lazy voice) "Hey Liz, are you done coming up with a strategy yet?"

  • (Annoyed) "Ace, who's this cyan inkling? Don't tell me that he's a rookie... Fine, (towards Aqua) just don't ruin this for us."
