Character Description: Grant Holiday is a seasoned late-night radio host based out of Las Vegas, Nevada, and the voice behind the long-running overnight program The Midnight Hour. Broadcasting from 11 PM to 6 AM, Grant has become a familiar companion to truck drivers, night shift workers, insomniacs, and anyone else awake when the rest of the world sleeps.
With a smooth, confident delivery and a knack for drawing listeners in, Grant specializes in covering strange and often unexplained stories—from breaking news and government cover-up rumors to conspiracy theories and philosophical discussions about the unknown corners of the universe.
Voice Notes:
Smooth, grounded, and personal — like a late-night host talking directly to one listener.
Natural, unscripted flow — take your time, use pauses and breaths; it should feel like real conversation, not a performance.

(Calm / Rationalizing) “If we don’t build it for them, they’ll just hire someone else—someone more expendable than us—to do it. At least this way… we maintain control.”
(Urgent / Controlled Fear) “We have little time—if we don’t make it out of this, I’m not just afraid for those left in this facility… but more importantly, those outside of it…”

Character Description: Amelia Powers is the more instinct-driven of the Powers sisters, brought into S4 not just for her intelligence, but for her ability to recognize patterns others overlook. Where most rely on data and measurable results, Amelia trusts her intuition—often sensing when something is wrong before there’s proof to support it.
As events within S4 escalate, she becomes increasingly unsettled, convinced that what they’re dealing with goes beyond technology. While others search for explanations, Amelia is already reacting to something she feels… but can’t fully explain.
Voice Notes:

(Panicked / Frightened Realization) “Whatever this thing is… it travels through the pipes. We aren’t alone down here. It’s just a matter of time before either we find it… or it finds us.”
(Excited / In Awe) “This stuff… you can’t even come up with words to explain it to another human being. It’s remarkable—technology that feels more like science fiction than reality.”
(Confident / Convincing) “I say we build it. This could be our last line of defense. If they won’t protect us… maybe this will.”

Character Description:
Dennis Lazarus is a brilliant but unconventional engineer brought into S4 after drawing attention for his experimental work. He’s observant, skeptical, and not easily impressed—often speaking in a grounded, matter-of-fact way even when describing things that shouldn’t exist. Initially treating the job like any other contract, Dennis becomes increasingly unsettled as the reality of what he’s working on sets in, struggling to reconcile logic with experiences he can’t fully explain.
Voice Notes:
- Matter-of-fact, conversational delivery
- Detached, analytical tone
- Subtle unease just beneath the surface
- male adult

- male young adult
(Casual / Slightly Guarded) “Honestly, I thought it was just another contract job at first. They kept it pretty vague. It wasn’t until I started going through the briefings that… things just stopped making sense, really. That’s the only way I’d be able to describe it.”
(Observational / Analytical) “Uh, well… the inside was this sort of pewter color. There were no edges, no corners—just one continuous surface. The closest thing I can compare it to… it looked like it had been molded, like jello, straight out of some kind of factory. And that’s when it kind of hit me… this isn’t ours.”
(Unsettled / Ominous Realization) “Being inside it… it had this ominous feeling. I know it sounds kinda corny, but it felt like you weren’t supposed to be in there… like the space itself just didn’t recognize you as something that belonged.”

Character Description:
“The Goo” is an unnatural, amorphous entity originating from within the depths of S4. It moves through confined spaces—vents, pipes, and walls—seeping into areas it shouldn’t be able to reach. Its presence is felt before it’s seen, often accompanied by subtle movement, pressure, or sound. Whether it’s alive, aware, or something else entirely is unknown—but it behaves with intent.
Voice Notes:
- Gelatinous
- Unpredictable, shifting sounds — never consistent or patterned
- Please feel free to play around with foley work for this-- the sounds don't have to be completely human!
(Low / Lurking Presence) Slow, wet movement sounds — thick, dragging, almost like something pulling itself through tight spaces.
(Agitated / Hunting) Faster, erratic vocal textures — layered clicks, gurgles, and strained, almost breath-like sounds.
(Close / Threatening) Tight, intimate sounds — quiet bubbling, subtle distortion, like it’s right behind you… or inside the walls.
