The Lavender Sessions
Project Overview
The Lavender Sessions is a queer analog horror podcast centered on an undead detective recounting his experiences with cryptid clients (vampires, werewolves, witches, ghosts) in therapy sessions. It takes place in 1950s-60s USA so it’s aesthetically emulating old noir radio dramas from that time and collects various archival information such as lost radio broadcasts, audio tapes, and various forms of documents. It's essentially if the audio diaries from the "Bioshock" series were threaded into a series like AMC's "Interview With The Vampire" except instead of a vampire, it's an undead noir detective talking to his therapist.
Casting voiceover talent in "The Ghost of Ardennes," a scripted LGBTQ+ analog horror podcast episode that takes place in 1944 during World War II. The episode showcases a romance between two soldiers, one soldier's tragic end, and the horrific fallout of it. This will be expressed through letters, radio transmissions, and various WWII documents. The episode will be posted on Spotify, YouTube, and Instagram as part of a promotional campaign for the main series.
Early 20s. A soldier who was a writer before the war. He is laid-back, soothing, and is selectively charming. As a closeted gay man, he is also constantly performing but is much better at performing it than Lawrence is. He gets along easily with others but reserves an intimate air of affection towards Lawrence. He wants the war to end so he can return to his writing and wishes to one day run away from the war with Lawrence.
I hope this letter has found you in the land of the living and not the land of the dead for if it was the latter I would have sought you there.
The amount of apologies that you speak of in your letter would have made another pair of eyes mistake me for shooting you instead of the truth.
Yes, I know the devil all too well, especially through the feelings you seem to express to me. Some fathers may even say your words reference a kind of affection that may tempt the devil, but I assure you the only person you are the tempting here is no one but me.
A 20-year-old who grew up a closeted gay man in Nelson, Nevada unsure how to confront his feelings. At age nineteen he enlisted in World War II to fight in the 7th Infantry division on the Western Front with the intention of escaping his father's resentful grasp and the subconscious intention of following his footsteps as a soldier to impress him. His attitude is boyish and brash; he finds it hard to articulate how he is feelings and has a lot of repressed feelings. Therefore, although he behaves as if he always has to perform and adhere to what a "typical boy" acts like. However, that performance fits him like an oversized suit because deep down is a very emotional person who wants to pop out whenever he gets the hint that it'll be accepted.
I am sorry for shooting you with my daddy's gun. Sorry I've gotta get that off my chest because in all ernestness I can't sleep without thinking of you. Shooting you I mean.
Before I jumped from that plane I was shaking like a shitting puppy so if I am being frank, I was probably looking to shoot anyone just to get it out of my system.
For what it's worth, I am sorry because as soon as I saw your green eyes I knew you weren't a Kraut. That is because they got those bright blue eyes with a little bit of the devil in them.
Stern military officer writing a letter to another officer talking about how one of his men has been dragging around a corpse across the camp, claiming that the corpse is still alive.
Private Redmane found the officer in his quarters this morning in bed with the corpse and his behavior has been disturbing the morale of the 422nd infantry to the point where his resignation would be beneficial for all parties involved.
Private Lavender still drags that rotten corpse like my kid does with his teddy bear.
Battalions remained in position and were subjected to intense mortar and artillery fire. Holding position until further notice.
